International Fantasy Football

This week there is the big absence of the Premier League games, as the international break is in full swing. As fantasy football addicts ourselves, this is just not acceptable, so we have entered the Mondogoal European Championship fantasy football tournament.

We are participating in the Friday tournament (there are others), so here is our line up:

Mondogoal

Goalkeeper

Andreas Isaksson

Isaksson who now plays in the Turkish League and is still a regular in the Swedish ranks. With the Sweeds taking on Moldova this week, we fancy the keeper to keep us a clean sheet here.

Defenders

Aleksander Dragovic

Next we have the Dynamo Kyiv and Austrian defender Dragovic, as Austria face Lichtenstein this Friday. If Austria are looking to qualify, then this is surely one that they will want to win, and they should do with comfort.

Johan Djourou

Djourou never seemed to perform too well in the Premier League, but when it came to international games he always stepped up to the plate. With a game against Estonia we fancy him to grab a clean sheet here.

Sergi Ignashevitch

Our final defender is Russian, Ignashevitch, as this week they look to defeat Montenegoro. Hopefully Russia will start becoming a bit more consistent, as they have been a bit ‘hot and cold’ of late, but hopefully there is a clean sheet here for us! Don’t let us down boys!

Midfielders

Koke

Our first midfielder this week is Atletico Madrid’s star Koke. Koke has now made 15 performances for his country and will look to really nail down his place in the team with the likes of Xavi and Iniesta ageing. With a fixture against Ukraine this could really be the time to do so.

Denis Glushakov

Glushakov is our second Russian player in this team, and the Spartak Moscow midfielder will look to have some form of influence and solidarity as they go to face Montenegro on Friday.

Gokhan Inler

Now we have a Swiss midfielder in the form of Napoli’s Inler. His last goal was back in 2012 for Switzerland, but hopefully he can change this as they face Estonia.

Kim Kallstrom

Sweden face Moldova this week, and we fancy them to grab the win. Hopefully Kallstrom will grab a goal, if not then assist our striker Zlatan.

Strikers

Harry Kane

Need we say much here? You all know what Mr Kane is all about… Goals!

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Matching Harry Kane’s hat-trick this week was Zlatan, who bagged a hat-trick of his own! Two men in deadly form propping up the front line.

Artem Dzyuba

With a game against Montenegro, we have relied heavily on a Russian win, with a total of three Russian players. We expect them to defeat Moldova, and hopefully this lad will get in amogst the goals who has already found the back of the net in their European campaign against Moldova.
