Aston Villa had to very much fight for their Premier league status last season. With only 10 wins to their name all season, most notably including their opening day win with a 3-1 result over Arsenal, Paul Lambert will be hoping to steer clear of the relegation scrap sooner rather than later.
With Villa being tipped for relegation by many, Lambert definitely has a battle on his hands in his third season in charge of the club.
STAR MAN – Christian BENTEKE
Last season, Christian Benteke was at 1 point a must-have in your FPL team. He may have not hit the heights of nearly 20 goals in his initial season with the club the season before but there is no doubt he is a threat.
Unfortunately for the Belgian, injury ruled him out towards the end of the season and out of the World Cup. He is not due back to full fitness until late October which sees this star man pick as a slow burner. Be sure to look out for this one when he returns!
HIDDEN GEM – Kieran RICHARDSON
Although he may not seem like a punt, let’s look at the facts. The midfielder fell just short of 100 FPL points last season, getting 4 goals and 5 assists along the way.
At a price of 5m, you would imagine having the strike force of Benteke, Agbonlahor, Weimann & Bent would allow him to pick up some easy assist points, as well as banging in a few himself.
