Captaincy Analysis – Gameweek 2 FPL Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Welcome to the second Fantasy Premier League captaincy analysis of the season! Gameweek 1 is behind us and for many the bulk of their FPL points came from smart differentials rather than the big name players with Hazard, Rooney, Walcott & Aguero all failing to deliver. Now let’s have a quick look at how last week’s picks fared:

1. Eden Hazard – 2 points

2. Santi Cazorla – points

3. Wayne Rooney – 5 points

Differential – Graziano Pelle – 5 points

Gamble – Raheem Sterling – 3 points

Now onto the task at hand, gameweek 2 sees the first Friday night Football of the season which means the deadline shifts to 18:45 on Friday so remember to be locked in!

1. Christian Benteke (BOU)

The Liverpool frontman makes his Anfield debut against newly promoted Bournemouth on Sunday; and after a promising debut at the Britannia, many expect the Belgian to get off the mark this week so Benteke will prove to be a popular captaincy choice. His goalscoring record and his fixture means he should be given serious thought when you choose who to give the armband to.

2. Wayne Rooney (AVL)

The United forward will once again lead the United line on Friday against Aston Villa and after having a certain goal taken off his toe by Kyle Walker on Saturday you can expect the United captain to be desperate to get on the scoresheet. Rooney will be United’s main attacking threat and with his high ownership percentage you can expect many people to trust him with the armband.

3. Alexis Sanchez (CRY)

The Arsenal winger made a cameo during Arsenal’s defeat by West Ham on Sunday and is expected to take his place in the starting lineup on Sunday as Arsenal face Crystal Palace at Selhurst park. After watching the game on Sunday you felt that Arsenal were missing the Chilean’s input so you feel that he could have a big part to play this week so should be in contention for your armband.

Differential – Dimitri Payet (LEI)

The West Ham midfielder sparked at the Emirates on Sunday which is sure to have turned the head of many an FPL manager so I’m sure many will give the former Marseille player some serious thought and will be transferred in by many managers, becoming a serious contender for captaincy. The fact that he’s facing Leicester at home will sweeten the deal. Payet looked the real deal last week which is why he’s a popular differential.

Gamble – Sergio Aguero (CHE)

The City striker only played 20 minutes in the demolition of West Brom on Monday night however this was to be expected after his participation in the Copa America but most think he will return to the starting line up as City host Chelsea on Sunday. It is a tough fixture but many people think Aguero can perform well so will trust the Argentine frontman with the armband.

Thanks for reading our article and good luck with gameweek 2! Remember the deadline is Friday @ 18:45 UK
