Captaincy Analysis – Gameweek 27 FPL Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Welcome to another FPL captaincy analysis for the upcoming gameweek 27, where we will try and show you the best tips and picks for the week. Before we examine some of your options it’s time to review how our picks from last week fared.

1. Diego Costa – 9 points

2. Romelu Lukaku – 2 points

3. Riyad Mahrez – 1 point

Differential – Wayne Rooney – 1 point

Gamble – Dimitri Payet – 13 points

So in all honesty our picks didn’t have the best time last week but hopefully this week’s choices will fare much better.

1. Jamie Vardy (NOR)

Despite them losing to Arsenal last week, they looked really good prior to Simpson losing his cool and getting sent off. The red card completely ruined Leicester, because Mahrez came off, and Vardy became the lone striker which meant he couldn’t really do anything up there. However, he still managed to get on the score sheet, and I think he’ll do it again and get more than one when they take on Norwich at home this weekend. Norwich have been poor defensively this year, and they play the best attacking team in the league. On paper, it’s a perfect game for Vardy, and surely he’s got to get on the scoresheet against the Canaries.

2. Odion Ighalo (BOU)

When you look at Ighalo’s recent stats, it doesn’t look great. In his last 7 games, he has notched just 1 goal despite his scintillating form prior to these games. Having said that, Deeney hasn’t been producing much in the Premier League either recently except for his 2 goal haul against Palace in gameweek 26. However, at home to Bournemouth, Ighalo will fancy his chances to get on the scoresheet just as he did in the reverse fixture earlier this season. Historically this season, Deeney has been provider for Ighalo so with both of them more than likely to start, Ighalo should be a consideration for captaincy.

3. Harry Kane (SWA)

Like Vardy, he also scored a penalty last weekend and although he didn’t look threatening for most of the match, you can’t doubt that Kane should do well against the Swans who have looked poor all season. Him and Dele Alli have looked unbelievable all season, and I think that they will continue their impressive run of form this weekend.

Differential – Dimitri Payet (SUN)

Can’t really say anything that you don’t know about Payet. He was class last week, he was class against Blackburn (Not that you couldn’t tell as their Twitter account praised him for the rest of the week) and I think he’ll continue his fantastic form when they take on Sunderland who, despite winning against Man United, will find West Ham a potentially tougher opponent as currently, they are arguably much better attacking than the Red Devils. Although Payet is owned by a lot of FPL managers, I think a lot of his owners are ghosts ships and I don’t think he’ll be captained by a lot considering the other options on offer. If you need to climb the rankings, I’d suggest captaining Payet.

Gamble – Diego Costa (SOU)

Even though he’s been fantastic recently, he’s the gamble because of the team they take on. Fraser Forster has been incredible since he came back from injury, keeping a clean sheet in every single game since his return. Will that impressive record continue? It’s a massive risk to captain him, but as Del Boy used to say “He who dares, wins!”
