Gameweek 26 Preview – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 25 saw Leicester City prove their doubters wrong again with another win, this time against their fellow title challengers, Manchester City. Aston Villa managed to get a much needed win and Chelsea & Manchester United saw out a 1-1 draw thanks to a late Costa equaliser. Gameweek 26 see’s the table leaders face arguably their toughest test left on their run in to the end of the season. Hopefully this will bring some Fantasy Premier League returns, so without further ado, here is our gameweek 26 preview & star men tips:

SUNMUN

Sunderland vs Manchester United

Manchester United really need to get some wins under their belt if they are to be challenging for a Champions league place and with a game against Sunderland, you would have thought this is a perfect opportunity. Sunderland however will not roll over lightly, as they currently are in a relegation scrap at the bottom of the table.

Star Man – Jesse Lingard (4.3m)

Very cheap FPL attacking midfielder and has scored in his last 2 games. Maybe he will make it 3 in 3!

Prediction – Sunderland 0-2 Manchester United

BOUSTK

Bournemouth vs Stoke City

Bournemouth are currently sitting 15th in their first season in the Premier League since their promotion last year, with the main aim for Eddie Howe and his men being to stay in the league. They are making good progress since their poor start to the season and this week they could continue this against a somewhat out of form Stoke City side, who seem to struggle without their leader, Ryan Shawcross. This game could be a cagey affair as both will not want to drop points in this fixture.

Star Man – Marko Arnautovic (6.5m)

Out of form recently but has it in him to get his form back to how it was.

Prediction – Bournemouth 1-1 Stoke City

CRYWAT

Crystal Palace vs Watford

Both of these teams have had really good seasons so far, especially Premier League new boys Watford who are currently sitting highest of the promotees in 10th place! Palace on the other hand are just one place behind them in 11th but have had a poor run of fixtures of late, with no Premier League win in 8 games, hardly the form you would expect from Crystal Palace but maybe this is the week they can turn it around?

Star Man – Odion Ighalo (6.3m)

Only 1 goal in his last 6 but has been outstanding overall this season so will look to return to his goalscoring ways.

Prediction – Crystal Palace 1-2 Watford

EVEWBA

Everton vs West Brom

Everton have now won 3-0 in their last two fixtures and although they were against Stoke City and Newcastle, it just shows they are not goal shy. They have performed relatively well this season, but will want to push on and challenge for a place in Europe. West Brom on the other hand are on the other side of the scale and are struggling to push away from the relegation scraps, being just 6 points clear of 18th placed Norwich.

Star Man – Ross Barkley (7.4m)

Has 3 goals in his last 2 games including 2 penalties for the Toffees.

Prediction – Everton 2-1 West Bromwich Albion

NORWHU

Norwich vs West Ham

Two teams that are somewhat arguably out of form, come head to head. Norwich are without a win in 5 games and sitting in the relegation zone. West Ham have only 1 win to their name from their last 4 games. Both will want to walk away from this game with a win and some belief that this will give them the confidence to go and grab some more wins!

Star Man – Emmanuel Emenike (5.0m)

The Nigerian striker has recently joined on loan from Turkey and is a good prospect.

Prediction – Norwich 0-2 West Ham

SWASOU

Swansea vs Southampton

Swansea are starting to perform like the Swansea of last season, with Sigurdsson being the playmaker and bagging plenty of fantasy Premier League points. This weekend however they will subject to a tough test against a strong Southampton side who are undefeated in 5, of which that run included games against Manchester United and Arsenal! Therefore this could be a cagey affair.

Star Man – Graziano Pelle (7.8m)

Has played well in recent games but just hasn’t managed the goal he deserves.

Prediction – Swansea 0-1 Southampton

CHENEW

Chelsea vs Newcastle

Since Guus Hiddink has taken over at Chelsea, they have not lost a game and I’m sure this run won’t end this week with a game against Newcastle. Although Newcastle have been playing better with some new signings such as Jonjo Shelvey and Andros Townsend, it may not be enough this weekend against a well organised Chelsea side. Chelsea will however be without one of their rocks at the back, Kurt Zouma, who is expected to now be out for around 6 months after injuring his anterior cruciate ligament against Manchester United.

Star Man – Diego Costa (10.6m)

Scored a late equaliser against Man United and will bully the Newcastle defenders.

Prediction – Chelsea 2-0 Newcastle

ARSLEI

Arsenal vs Leicester City

It still doesn’t feel normal seeing Leicester City top of the table and it was at this time last season everyone was saying that they would be playing their football next season in the Championship, as after 25 games played they were bottom with just 17 points! Now they have 53! Arsenal therefore are in for a tough weekend against this Leicester squad who just don’t seem to want to drop any points.

Star Man – Mesut Ozil (9.9m)

Has the potential to run the game but may get stopped by Kante… who knows with Leicester City!

Prediction – Arsenal 1-1 Leicester

AVLLIV

Aston Villa vs Liverpool

Sitting bottom of the Premier League, Aston Villa will take anything from this fixture as their relegation battle counterparts, Norwich, scored 4 against this side but still came away with nothing. Liverpool will not be looking to let in that number of goals, however they are not in the best of form themselves and an upset could be on the cards if Villa play well enough.

Star Man – Gabriel Agbonlahor (4.7m)

Scored last weekend and may provide the miracle Aston Villa need in staying up.

Prediction– Aston Villa 2-2 Liverpool

MCITOT

Manchester City vs Tottenham

One of the games of the weekend is our final fixture, seeing Spurs visit the Etihad. Manchester City will be keen to get their title challenge back on track and surely cannot afford another loss as Leicester are currently sitting 6 points clear of them! Spurs on the other hand are only 5 points adrift of the table toppers, so a win would do them massive favours in their attempts to achieve a Champions League spot, or even win the league!

Star Man – Sergio Aguero (13.6m)

Best striker in the Premier League continues to score goals despite losing the last game.

Prediction – Manchester City 2-2 Tottenham
