Season Prospects – Leicester City

Leicester City

Having been tipped by many to have been the favourites for relegation, the Foxes shocked the footballing nation as they put together a fantastic winning run towards of the end of the 2014/15 season and cemented their Premier League status. It was this terrific form that they took them off the foot of the table, where they had been for the majority of the season. Now they will be looking to build on this, albeit without Nigel Pearson, which should hopefully mean that the Leicester squad has one or two players who will be in contention or our Fantasy Premier League squads.

STAR MAN – Leonardo Ulloa (6.0m)

Ulloa’s goals were pivotal in helping his team gain points from matches. In his debut season following a move from Championship side Brighton, the Argentinian found the back of the net eleven times, including that famous 5-3 victory over Manchester United. Furthermore, his three assists also show that he is a team player and he will perhaps look to build on this particular tally in 2015/16. At 28 years of age, Ulloa is in his prime and hopefully for us he will be able to notch up double figures once again.

HIDDEN GEM – Riyad Mahrez (5.5m)

The Algerian attacking midfielder has been a bit of an unsung hero for Leicester, as he was instrumental in their survival last campaign. With four goals and three assists in 25 starts, Mahrez has been a real threat going forward and will be looking to build on life in the English top tier. He would be a sensible addition to the Fantasy Football subs bench perhaps, with the option of playing him when the Foxes have a winnable home encounter. Having been awarded the man of the match accolade twice, there is no reason why you should not give third ever improving choice a space in your squads.
