Season Prospects – West Ham

WHU

2015/16 will be the beginning of a new era for the Irons. Out with the old (Sam Allardyce) and in with the new (Slave Bilic), a new style of play is expected at Upton Park. West Ham are indeed already in the process of something special it has to be said, with the club sitting in the top four last Christmas, making decent buys in the transfer market such as Pedro Obiang, as well as a new stadium on the horizon. Most importantly however, exciting times lie ahead for WHUFC in the Fantasy Premier League. Let’s take a closer a look at one or two options we should be focusing on in claret and blue:

STAR MAN – Dimitri Payet (7.5m)

Payet shocked the continent when he made the move over to East London from Marseille in the summer. He recorded more assists in the French top tier than any other player during the 2014/15 campaign, with 16. Now, he will be looking to set the Premier League alight. He will most probably operate behind a striker (or two) with his neat feet and quick turn of pace. In addition to this, he has a fab eye for goal and loves a long range striker so we could find him rifling the back of the net more often than not.

HIDDEN GEM – Aaron Cresswell (5.5m)

Labelled by many as the best domestic left-back last season, Cresswell is arguably the perfect Fantasy Premier League footballer. He defends well, helping the Hammers to concede less goals than Liverpool and Tottenham, and attacks even better, with two goals and four assists to his name already. The Englishman is a fantastic asset to have, but is often overlooked by many due to the left-back position being rather competitive due to the influx of options. We certainly should be keeping our eyes peeled on this hidden gem.
