Gameweek 22 welcomed more FPL red arrows for the S**thouse XI after a rough ride in recent weeks and its mainly thanks to our toothless attack. With only 12 points from 6 attackers it made our week with a score of 31, 15 below the already low average! Our Fantasy Premier League rank dropped from 3,390,555 back to the low 3.4m mark (3,409,585). Concerns have to be said for Wayne Rooney who is on a run, but I expect in true Rooney style for this run to end abruptly and for him to return back to my starting XI, hence why I am keeping for gameweek 23. Attention is also turned to Francis Coquelin who is massively missed at the S**thouse XI. Get well soon buddy, the 3C’s (Colback, Cattermole, Coquelin) need you!
Before we look at the line-up for gameweek 23, lets re-cap the last round
Goalkeeper
Boruc – Becoming a bit of a nuisance, Boruc notched up another cleanie along with his PIC (Partner In Crime) Steve Cook. They are both relegated to the bench this week.
Defenders
Bassong – Played 90 points and returned a point, top marks Seb.
Cook – Already mentioned his indiscretion and like Boruc, its bench time.
Coloccini – Played 90 and returned 2, not at the Bassong level but perfectly acceptable.
Huth – Had a terrible game against The Villa and could have easily been sent off with his big arms, 1 point return!
Midfielders
Colback – Actually played well for Newcastle and made the most clearances, blocks and interceptions combined than all players on the pitch. Thankfully, that counted for sweet nothing as 2 points was his prize.
Cattermole – Got hauled off after 52 minutes so was unable to register his full 60 minute points meaning, along with his yellow card, he got nadda!
Captain Yacob – Standard 2 points doubled after a hammering by the Saints.
Lucas – Followed in Claudio’s footsteps with a 2 pointer.
Strikers
Jerome – This guy is perfect, he never starts but always comes on… to do nothing. 1 point.
Okazaki – Bad boy of the group only went and got a goal! 2 minutes before the 60 minute mark however he was taken off meaning his total was a more acceptable 5 points.
Now onto this week’s picks:
Transfer – Gameweek 23 sees us replace the non-starter Brad Guzan with “The Baker”, Mark Bunn.
Captain – This week its over to Jerome who will hopefully continue this hopeless run.
