Here it is, the final gameweek of the season. Happy with your season performance or forever thinking what might have been? It has been a great pleasure writing this preview article and we hope you all gained from this.
So here it is one last time this season, your star players and predictions for the week.
Brighton vs Manchester City
Manchester City will be aiming to clinch the Premier League trophy when they take on Brighton at the American Express Community Stadium. The Citizens have been producing thrilling performances in the 2018/2019 season, but they do not want to stop now. Pep Guardiola’s men are likely to go all guns blazing at Brighton and we predict that the defending champions are going to prove their worth on the field once again.Man City want to get their job in style and we do not believe that the Seagulls are going to spoil the Citizens’ party at their American Express Community Stadium. A man to watch in the away team will be Kun Aguero, who has been scoring goals for fun in the English top flight this term. Raheem Sterling is likely to pose a big threat for the opposition defenders as well.
STAR MAN: Sergio Aguero (11.9m)
The little Argentine always loves a goal on the title winning day.
PREDICTION: Brighton 0-2 Manchester City
Burnley vs Arsenal
Burnley play host to Arsenal at their Turf Moor in what is expected to be a very interesting clash. The Clarets suffered back-to-back losses to the likes of Man City and Everton in previous two league fixtures and they are considered underdogs in Sunday’s football game against Unai Emery’s troops. Burnley have been struggling in front of goal of late and we do not believe that they are capable of upsetting Arsenal at their Turf Moor. The Gunners, on the other hand, failed to win previous four league fixtures and, as a result, they will not secure a top-four finish. Anyhow, the capital club aim to finish the season in style and we predict that they are going to beat Burnley on Matchday 38, just like they did in the first half of the season. It has to be noted that Arsenal are after their tenth consecutive win over Burnley.
STAR MAN: Alexandre Lacazette (9.4m)
This will be a real test for the Gunners and their prolific front man, to break that stringent Burnley defense.
PREDICTION: Burnley 1-2 Arsenal
Crystal Palace vs Bournemouth
Buoyed by a 3-2 win over Cardiff City, Crystal Palace take on Bournemouth on the last day of the season. The Eagles proved their worth in the triumph over the Bluebirds and they are seen as favourites to win Sunday’s football game against the Cherries. Andros Townsend produced a fine performance in the victory over Cardiff City, meaning that the opposition defenders should have him at bay.Bournemouth, on the other hand, did well to beat Spurs in their last league fixture, but you should bear in mind that the visitors finished the game with nine men on the field. Anyhow, both Palace and Bournemouth are likely to adopt an attack-minded approach on Matchday 38 and we believe that there is a big value in betting on both teams to score. In their last meeting in London the two teams played out a 2-2 draw.
STAR MAN: Patrick van Aanholt (5.5m)
With just the 2 goals for the attacking full back this season, he’ll be game for increasing his tally right from the first minute.
PREDICTION: Crystal Palace 2-2 Bournemouth
Fulham vs Newcastle
Following three consecutive wins over Everton, Bournemouth and Cardiff City, Fulham suffered a 1-0 defeat to Wolverhampton in their last league match. The Cottagers failed to secure the Premier League survival, but they have been showing character in the season finale. The capital club want to finish the season in style and given their recent form, the hosts are definitely capable of beating Newcastle United on Matchday 38.The Magpies, on the other hand, were on the verge of holding Liverpool to a draw at their St. James’ Park at the weekend, but the Reds eventually scored a late winner and picked up all three points from the game. Rafa Benitez’s troops, though, managed to avoid relegation to the Championship and nothing else matters. Anyhow, a close encounter is on the cards in London and we predict that the two teams are going to share the spoils this time out.
STAR MAN: Salomon Rondon (5.9m)
His aerial presence will be something to worry about for the Cottagers.
PREDICTION: Fulham 1-1 Newcastle
Leicester vs Chelsea
Leicester City play host to Chelsea in their last game of the season. The Foxes aim to finish the season in top eight, but beating the Blues is easier said than done. Brendan Rodgers’ men recorded five wins in previous seven league fixtures and the fact that they defeated Arsenal in their last home match is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of Maurizio Sarri’s troops.Chelsea aim to build on a 3-0 win over Watford, but seeing that the capital club booked their place in the Champions League, coach Maurizio Sarri is likely to rest key players against Leicester City. The Foxes have turned their King Power Stadium into a real fortress and we predict that they are going to pick up all three points from Sunday’s football game against Brendan Rodgers’ charges.
STAR MAN: Olivier Giroud (7.7m)
He’s eager to show the boss why he should be up there in the starting line 11. This could be his opportunity.
PREDICTION: Leicester 1-3 Chelsea
Liverpool vs Wolves
Liverpool do not want to give up on their title dream. The Reds are on an eight-game winning run in the Premier League ahead of the decider and once again only a win counts for the Wolves. Jurgen Klopp’s charges have been scoring goals for fun of late and they are likely to go all guns blazing at the Wolves. Mohamed Salah and Co. aim to win their first league triumph since 1990 and regardless of which result Man City will record against Brighton, the Anfield outfit should mind their own business.Seeing that Wolverhampton have little to play for in Sunday’s football game, we are tempted to put our money on the title-chasing side. You should bear in mind, though, that the visitors are on a three-game winning run in the English elite division ahead of the trip to Liverpool.
STAR MAN: Sadio Mane (10.2m)
He’s fit, expected to start & bang on form. What else do you need?
PREDICTION: Liverpool 3-2 Wolves
Manchester United vs Cardiff
Manchester United will be looking to put an end to their four-game winless run in the Premier League when they host Cardiff City at their Old Trafford. The Red Devils dropped two points in a 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town and, as a result, they will not represent England in the Champions League next term. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s troops, though, aim to finish the season in style and we predict that they are going to go for a win against Cardiff City. The Bluebirds will compete in the Championship next term as they suffered a heartbreaking loss to Crystal Palace at the weekend, but they surely want to spoil Man Utd’s party at Old Trafford. However, the Red Devils are more of a team than the Bluebirds and seeing that the Welsh club often struggle on the travels, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the hosts.
STAR MAN: Paul Pogba (8.5m)
Now it’s down to pride. The Frenchman needs to step up for that badge he dawns.
PREDICTION: Manchester United 3-0 Cardiff
Southampton vs Huddersfield
Despite suffering a heavy loss to West Ham United at the weekend, Southampton will compete in the Premier League next season. Anyhow, the Saints aim to put an end to their four-game winless run in the English elite division when they host Huddersfield Town at their St. Mary’s Stadium. Southampton are seven points clear of the relegation zone, but a win over the Terriers could see them finish the season in 15th position in the standings. The Terriers, on the other hand, have been struggling in the second half of the season and, as a result, they failed to secure the Premier League survival. Huddersfield Town, though, managed to hold Manchester United to a draw at the weekend, which is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the trip to Southampton. The rock-bottom side aim to finish the season in style, but they should be happy with one point from the Saints clash.
STAR MAN: Shane Long (4.7m)
4 goals in the last 6 games and a mere 4.3% ownership. Watch out.
PREDICTION: Southampton 2-1 Huddersfield
Tottenham vs Everton
Tottenham will be aiming to make amends for back-to-back losses to the likes of West Ham and Bournemouth when they host Everton at their Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on the last day of the season. Spurs did well to make it to the Champions League, meaning that coach Mauricio Pochettino is likely to mix the squad against the Toffees. However, regardless who will play for the hosts this time out, we are positive that they are going to grab something from the clash. The Toffees, on the other hand, recorded a 2-0 over Burnley in their last league fixture, with the team keeping their third consecutive clean sheet in the English top flight. Everton aim to give fans yet another reason for celebration and seeing that the hosts should be with a severely-weakened squad on the last day of the season, we believe that there is a big value in betting on draw.
STAR MAN: Lucas Moura (6.8m)
After a massive Champions League result, the hattrick hero will be in for more.
PREDICTION: Tottenham 1-1 Everton
Watford vs West Ham
Vicarage Road Stadium will host Sunday’s football game between Watford and West Ham United. The Hornets suffered back-to-back losses to the likes of Wolverhampton and Chelsea in previous two league fixtures, but they are only one point away from finishing the season in top ten. Watford have been producing fine displays in the 2018/2019 season and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play against West Ham.The Hammers, on the other hand, did well to beat the likes of Tottenham and Southampton in previous two league games, meaning that they are brimming with confidence ahead of the trip to Watford. However, seeing that the Hornets are tough to beat at home, we are tempted to put our money on draw. It has to be noted that under 2.5 goals have been netted in each of their previous four meetings in the English elite division.
STAR MAN: Marko Arnautovic (6.7m)
With goals very much on offer, the Austrian, with form on his side, can be the one to boost your ranks.
PREDICTION: Watford 2-3 West Ham
