So with the exception of the Champions League for a few clubs, most of the Premier League clubs are looking towards their game-week 7 fixtures. There are some crackers lined up so we should be in for a treat:
Hull vs Crystal Palace
Here we have probably one of the most even games of the weekend. Both teams will look to continue their good form after what was a spirited game against the champions and a win over Leicester City. This game could be a very tight affair.
STAR MAN – Jason PUNCHEON
After Hull let in 4 against Manchester City, Palace & Puncheon will be confident they can hit the back of the net in this fixture. He has continued his good form from the 2013/2014 season, and he will look to continue this against Hull.
Leicester vs Burnley
The Battle of the new boys. Both will look to get one up on the other as they aim to grab all 3 points. Last season’s Championship equivalent fixtures ended in a draw and a Leicester City win, and we can’t see Burnley coming away with all three points here.
STAR MAN – Leonardo ULLOA
After firing a blank in Gameweek 6, the Argentine will aim to find his goal-scoring form once again.
Liverpool vs West Brom
After West Brom battered Burnley, they will be full of confidence that they can come back with some points from their trip to Anfield. However they will be without Andre Wisdom and Liverpool will want to get back on track with a win here.
STAR MAN – Daniel STURRIDGE
The Englishman looks to be making his return this week, and will play a crucial part in getting Liverpool back into their winning run.
Sunderland vs Stoke
Well this has 0-0 written all over it. Stoke tend to sit very deep and play counter attacking football, whilst Sunderland have only scored 5 goals all season.
STAR MAN – Peter CROUCH
If Stoke are to find the back of the net, this guy is likely to be involved after getting 2 goals in 2 games. He will play a very important role if this game isn’t to be 0-0.
Swansea vs Newcastle
Swansea will be looking to find the form here that they had originally at the start of the season, whereas Newcastle on the other hand will be looking for any points they can take away from Wales.
STAR MAN – Gylfi SIGURDSSON
The Icelandic midfielder has had a few slow games but will look to rekindle the form he had at the start of the season, and what better opportunity than against a lacklustre Newcastle.
Aston Villa vs Manchester City
Aston Villa continue their tough run here against the champions. Villa have managed to take some points away from the likes of Liverpool, but will do well here to come away with any.
STAR MAN – Sergio AGUERO
Aguero will want to continue his goal-scoring form here, need I say more?
Manchester United vs Everton
Van Gaal and his men will want to get back to winning ways as soon as possible, but will be given a run for their money against an in-form Everton.
STAR MAN – Radamel FALCAO
Falcao has looked a bit rusty, but is slowly improving with every minute played. Without Rooney, United will be looking to their new signing as a source of goals.
Chelsea vs Arsenal
This is probably the tastiest fixture of the weekend as Arsenal visit Stamford Bridge. Hopefully both teams will look to attack, but this could turn out a very cagey affair as Arsenal will look to avoid a similar result to that of last season.
STAR MAN – Diego COSTA
Does this need any explanation? 8 goals in his first 6 games…
Spurs vs Southampton
This fixture sees Mauricio Pochettino face his former club, who are in unstoppable form, sitting second in the table. Spurs will do well here to come away with any points.
STAR MAN – Graziano Pelle
The Saints new boy has adapted well to the Premier League after scoring 4 in his first 6 games, and undoubtedly Southampton will look towards him to find the back of the net again.
West Ham vs QPR
QPR visit the Hammers this game-week looking for their second win of the season, but they will surely have to put in a great performance to come away with that desired result. With Rob Green having already conceded 13 goals this season, we could see a high scoring fixture.
STAR MAN – Enner VALENCIA
The Hammers new signing could end up having some fun here against a defence that seems to be leaking goals of late.
