Gameweek 11 Review – FPL Tips

Gameweek 11 saw a Fantasy Premier League average of 53 points, whilst the FPL Dreamteam scored a tally of 139 points. Bournemouth upset Manchester United with a 1-0 home victory, Wolves held Arsenal to 1-1 draw, whilst both Manchester City and Liverpool came from one behind to win 2-1. Chelsea continued their good form, Leicester kept up the chase on Manchester City and Liverpool, whilst Spurs where held to a draw after a horrific injury to Everton midfielder Andre Gomes.

Goalkeeper

Aaron Ramsdale – Bournemouth hosted Manchester United in gameweek 11, a fixture that they managed to pull off a shock to many after they came away with a 1-0 victory. Man United had 15 shots of goal, with Ramsdale making 4 saves earning himself and his team a clean sheet and 2 bonus points.

Defenders

John Lundstram – Having started his season with a FPL price of £4.0m, Lundstram is now priced at £4.8m and rightly so. Lundrstram is classed as a defender on Fantasy Premier League; however he notably plays out of position, benefiting from any clean sheet points, whilst also being further up the field. This week he was the first Sheffield United player to score two goals in the Premier League since 1994, coupled with a clean sheet and 3 bonus points, scoring a total of 21 points!

Caglar Soyuncu – Since Brendan Rodgers took over Leicester have on 12 games with only Liverpool (19) and Manchester City (17) have won more and this gameweek they won 0-2 against Crystal Palace. Soyuncu managed to find the back of the net for the Foxes, being just the second Turkish player to score for Leicester, scoring 14 points for those that owned him in their fantasy teams.

Kyle Walker – City came from behind this week to beat Southampton 2-1 thanks to a goal and an assist from Walker. This was the first time Walker has scored and assisted in the same game, which is somewhat surprising due to his attacking nature as a wingback, but the 14 points will have been welcomed by the 13.3% of managers that own the defender.

Adam Smith – Joining Aaron Ramsdale in the Dreamteam with week is fellow defender, Adam Smith who provided the assist for Joshua King’s winner in the 1-0 victory. Smith is owned by just 0.6% of FPL managers, but he managed to pick up his third start in a row, third clean sheet in a row and his first assist of the season!

Martin Montoya – Brighton have now won 2 on the bounce with a 2-0 victory over Norwich and are unbeaten at home in their last four. Montoya provided an assist, whilst also picking up 3 bonus points and a clean sheet, bringing his tally to 12 points this gameweek.

Midfielders

Saido Mane – Against Villa, Mane managed to score Liverpool’s 35th 90th minute winning goal in the Premier League which I the most of any other club in the league. Owned by 32.7% of FPL managers, Mane’s goal, assist and 3 bonus points was welcomed, making him the highest scoring midfielder this week.

Leandro Trossard – Having just recently come back from injury, Trossard has really show his ability. Across the past two gameweeks he has played 56 minutes, scoring once and assisting twice, an attacking return every 19 minutes. If Brighton’s fixtures were better, it is likely that Trossard’s ownership would be rising, but their next 4 fixtures include; Manchester United, Leicester, Liverpool and Arsenal.

John Fleck – The lowest scorer of the Dreamteam this week is Blades midfielder John Fleck, who managed to score the third goal in Sheffield’s 3-0 victory over Burnley. This victory has taken them up to sixth, just 1 point away from a European place in fifth, could it happen?

Forwards

Lys Mousset – Priced at £4.9m, Mousset showed his value this gameweek with a hat-trick of assists in the first half, as the Blades won 3-0 against Burnley. He became the ninth player to assist 3 goals in the first half of a Premier League game, a feat last completed by Kyle Walker-Peters.

Tammy Abraham – The final player of the gameweek 11 Dreamteam is Chelsea youngster Abraham, who managed to score and assist in their 1-2 victory over Watford. Abraham now has 9 goals and 2 assists in the last 11 games, just 1 goal ahead of the current leader of the Golden Boot, Jamie Vardy.
