Harvey Elliott – Fantasy Football Potential

Liverpool have announced the signing of 16 year old winger, Harvey Elliott, from Fulham after his contract had expired in June.

The youngster was a transfer target of Real Madrid, PSG, Arsenal and Manchester City, but it has been Liverpool who have won his signature. Elliott will join another talented youngster who joined the Reds this summer in Sepp van den Berg. Here’s what Elliott has had to say about his move to Liverpool:

“To have joined the club that I supported as a boy is a dream come true for me and all of my family and it’s an incredible feeling to now officially be able to call myself a Red! I can’t wait to get started and it will be a truly special feeling to pull the famous red jersey on. I’ll work as hard as I possibly can for the club and I feel Anfield is the perfect place for me to develop and progress as a player.”

Player History

Elliott is a product of the Fulham youth academy and during the 2018/19 Premier League season he became the youngest ever Premier League player, as he featured in a 1-0 defeat to Wolves as he came on as an 88th minute substitute. Across the season he went on to make 3 senior appearances for the Cottagers, 2 being in the league. During the campaign he did feature on 12 occasions in the under-18’s Premier League scoring 5 and assisting 3 times.

Internationally, Elliott has featured for England under-15’s and under-17’s, playing a total of 8 games and scoring on 3 occasions.

Fantasy Football Potential

Elliott has joined up with Liverpool’s pre-season tour and has featured in the 0-3 loss to Napoli as he came on as a substitute during the game. That said, it is highly unlikely that he will feature in the Premier League this season, as he did last season for Fulham. It is more likely that the youngster will be sent out on loan, however he will certainly be in the future plans of Jurgen Klopp.
