Finally a green arrow! I was beginning to forget what they looked like. It’s also my best gameweek rank of the season with a rank of 156k. That’s meant we’ve jumped to 531k and negated those past 3 red arrows. We got a huge chunk of luck after I benched Grealish and VC’d Salah, but that was badly needed.
Guaita conceded early against Norwich although he did make 3 saves. Rico was a disaster with a -1 pointer. He shipped 3, got booked and got brought off at half time. TAA and Soyuncu both kept clean sheets while the latter managed to pick up 2 bonus points in a 3-0 win.
Alli and KDB were the only 2 mids to not hit double figures. Alli had a lacklustre performance against Southampton and he’s first on the chopping block. KDB played deeper against Everton and only looked like assisting the assister. Cantwell scored early on with a tidy finish and scooped 2 bps, as well as a CS point due to him being subbed before they conceded. Salah also netted early on in his game and matched Cantwell’s returns. He was given the armband as Vardy missed out. Grealish came off the bench with his joint highest score of the season. He ran the show against a poor Burnley performance with a goal and assist. He also had a goal ruled out by VAR, thanks to Wesley being marginally offside in the build up.
Maupay scored a single as Chelsea held out well until the end. He also got booked. Name a better duo than Danny Ings and maximum bonus points? He scored once again in a 1-0 against Spurs with only a couple of chances.
Transfers: Alli (OUT) -> Sarr (IN). Alli has looked out of sorts, and I can’t see Kane’s injury helping him. Sarr’s a steal at £6.2m and provides some of the cash needed for Mané in 2 weeks. His stats are extremely promising.
Guaita faces two of the big 6 next up and this week he’s at home to an improved Arsenal. Sidibé has a tasty home game against Brighton and he’s been picking up a lot of baseline bonus points. That showed last week when he picked up 2 bonuses on my bench for just appearance points. Soyuncu is against Southampton, so I wouldn’t be annoyed if Ings is kept quiet. TAA is away to Spurs who are without Harry Kane.
Grealish and KDB play each other, so I’m hoping for goals. The Villa defence has been extremely poor. Grealish may be on pens now that Wesley has picked up an injury. Salah travels to Spurs who’ve kept just 2 CS at home this season. Sarr faces Bournemouth in a 6 point relegation battle. Watford have been a different team under Pearson and Bournemouth have won just 1 of their last 9 games.
Vardy is finally back for Southampton after missing the last 2 games. He’s up against Ings, so even though I’ve a Leicester defender I wouldn’t mind a few goals from these two inform strikers. Maupay faces Everton which means I’ve another clash. His stats haven’t been bad but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a blank this week.
Captain: Salah. Liverpool’s form is hard to ignore and Spurs’ defence has been nothing but a liability.
