Gameweek 20 was in the midst of the festive fixtures, which saw mass rotation, with many fantasy players scrambling to have a starting XI. That said, Liverpool once again won, City got back to winning ways and Chelsea beat Arsenal with two late goals! Norwich provided an upset with a draw against Spurs, Leicesters heavily rotated team managed a win against the Hammers and Man United won 0-2 against Burnley. That said, here’s the gameweek 20 dreamteam review:
Goalkeeper
Lukasz Fabianski – In his first fixture after injury, Fabianski has made it into the Fantasy Premier League Dreamteam! The Hammers shot stopper managed to save a penalty, along with 6 other shots, scoring a total of 8 points, which will lead to many managers bringing him back into their teams.
Defenders
James Tomkins – The Palace defender picked up a crucial goal earning the Eagles a 1-1 draw against Southampton.
Craig Cathcart – Watford defender, Cathcart, managed to secure a place in the dreamteam with a clean sheet and 2 bonus points as Watford beat Villa 3-0 at home. This victory kept the Hornets in 19th, but they are now within two points of Aston Villa.
Lewis Dunk – Owed by 12.9%, Dunk helped Brighton to a 2-0 victory over Bournemouth earning those managers who played him a total of 8 points with a clean sheet and two bonus points.
Midfielders
Kevin De Bruyne – Mr consistent once again has made it into the FPL dreamteam scoring 14 points, with a goal, an assist and 3 bonus points. De Bruyne has now been directly involved in 19 goals this season, whilst only Jamie Vardy has been involved in more (20).
Aaron Mooy – Brighton midfielder scored a crucial goal in a 2-0 victory over Bournemouth, scoring 11 FPL points. This was only the second attacking return for Mooy all season after his assist against Arsenal.
Saido Mane – The second highest owned player (38.5%) in this dreamteam after De Bruyne (50.2%) is Mane and he once again has made the FPL dreamteam. Mane managed to score the only goal in a tight 1-0 victory over Wolves.
Ayoze Perez – Many of the Leicester City FPL assets did not start this gameweek, however one wh did was Ayoze Perez, who is owned by 4.4% of FPL managers. With two assists and two bonus points, Perez managed to pick up 10 points and a spot in the dreamteam.
Pablo Fornals – West Ham lost 1-2 against Leicester, which ended up being Pellegrini’s last game as the Hammers manager. However Fornals managed to score the single goal and also pick up 3 bonus points, giving him a grand total of 10 for gameweek 20.
Forwards
Dominic Calvert-Lewin – After picking up a brace, Calvert-Lewin made the FPL Dreamteam with a total of 12 points, being the joint highest scoring forward. With these two goals, the Everton forward has not scored more goals (5) than any other Premier League player in the last five gameweeks.
Troy Deeney – Watford’s main man looks to be back in form, having scored 3 times in the last 3 games. This gamweek Deeney managed a brace at home as Watford beat Aston Villa 3-0, scoring the 0.9% of FPL managers 12 FPL points.
