FPL Updates XI – Gameweek 8 FPL Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

So the horrible luck continued for the FPL Updates XI. This week it was Wilson and Kolarov, the two that we took a point hit for the other week, who continued to underperform and pick up injuires. Before we continue, here is how the team looked at the end of the gameweek:

Updates XI

To kick things off we had Butland in goal, who to be fair didn’t do too bad. He lost the clean sheet but picked us up some extra points than the usual 2 points for playing. He also managed to get more points than our 3 defenders, as Richards, Huth and Kolarov conceded 12 goals between them! Fair to say they will be lucky to get a spot in our wildcard team.

In the middle of the park it was a mixed bag. Mahrez blanked, but with the points he has brought in of late we can let him off this week. Ayew seems to have lost his form that he had at the start of the season, and it may just be time to jump off the Swansea train. Yaya picked up 4 points, which was better than the majority of our players this week, but still isn’t great considering the high standards that were set from the team last season. Finally, Depay pulled his finger out and picked us and the team up 8 points!

Up top we had Wilson (need we say more?).Martial as captain picked us up 10 points, which wasn’t too bad as it could have been Aguero with the armband, who only brought the team home 2 points…

So, under average again this week! Our luck is completely out of the window and we will be playing the wildcard over the international break, but in the meantime we need to try and pick up some green arrows! Here is our change this week:

Wilson (OUT) -> Gestede (IN)

With Wilson picking up a serious injury we have taken a one week gamble on Gestede and if he performs well he could earn himself a place in our wildcard team!

FPL Updates

This week we continue our faith in Butland who has been a good servant to the squad so far this season. Just in front of him we continue with the three that conceded 12 goals. To be honest, we don’t have much of a choice as Wilson was injured, but next week we will be making use of the wildcard and making sure that we have a bit more selection instead of being stuck with Mings and Wisdom on the bench!

In the middle of the park we have the ever reliable Mahrez, standard! We then have Ayew and Depay who both have tough fixtures this week against Tottenham and Arsenal respectively, but hopefully they can pick us up some points. Finally in midfield we have Toure, who has picked up a knock, but we have gambled on him playing. If not, Cazorla will come in!

Up top we have new boy Gestede, who also has the vice captaincy. The captaincy this week has gone with Sergio Aguero, who must be eager to find the back of the net as he has only scored once this season, so what better chance than against Newcastle! Martial plays Arsenal this week, but we fancy his chances to pick up some points at the Emirates!
