FPL Captaincy Analysis – Gameweek 19 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Festive football is here! The time of year when we have football practically every day for the next couple of weeks! With that said, before we look at this week’s fantasy football captaincy picks, here’s how last weeks FPL Captaincy Analysis did:

1. Mohamed Salah – 8 points
2. Eden Hazard – 6 points
3. Wayne Rooney – 13 points
Differential – David De Gea – 3 points
Gamble – Harry Kane – 1 point

Now onto this week’s picks…

1. Harry Kane (BUR)

I’m not sure what’s going on with Kane at the moment. He’s scoring goals for fun in one game, the next he couldn’t finish his dinner! All I know is that Kane has a lot of chances to score but just doesn’t seem to be putting them away as much as he was last season, which is strange to say as a) he has more goals this season than he did at this stage last season, and b) he’s scored 12 goals! He’s second top goal scorer! With his ownership decreasing due to impatient owners, it could mean that now could be the perfect opportunity to captain Kane!

2. Kevin De Bruyne (BOU)

One thing is for certain, KDB at the minute is one of the best players in the world. He’s an absolute joy to watch and was involved in most of the goals against Tottenham, which is a recurring theme as he seems to be involved in some way with every goal Man City score this season. He should have also got an assist if Jesus didn’t miss his penalty too! He’s scored 8+ points 8 times this season and with back-to-back double digit hauls, he’s certainly the player to choose for captaincy. They play Bournemouth this week who struggled against Liverpool, conceding 4 goals to the “Fab Four”, and this could be a similar scoreline, especially considering how many goals City have scored this season!

3. Mohamed Salah (ARS)

I could repeat what I’ve said in previous weeks about Mo Salah; he’s an FPL must-have and has been proving it with the goals he’s been scoring. With 14 goals to his name already, making him the top scorer in the league, there doesn’t seem to be a team in the league that is capable of stopping the Egyptian! In the reverse fixture, Salah was fantastic, scoring and assisting once. He has only blanked once in the last 10 matches, a fantastic record, and one he’ll hope to extend!

Differential – Wilfried Zaha (SWA)

It took a while for Zaha to get back into some good form after his injury at the start of the season, but the arrival of Hodgson has certainly allowed Zaha to play to the best of his abilities. He’s yet to blank in three games, assisting twice and scoring once, however that total could have been larger if Benteke could bury his chances! He’s only owned by 5%, and with a home game coming up to Swansea, who have really struggled defensively this season, Zaha could exploit that slow defence that conceded 3 to Everton last week!

Gamble – Wayne Rooney (CHE)

It seems unfair to say that Rooney is a gamble this week, and although he scored 1 and assisted twice last week, the stats may be a bit deceptive. For 75 minutes, Rooney was very poor and did look fatigued as he has played 80+ minutes of football on a weekly basis, something he hasn’t done for a while. He’s scored 8 and assisted 3 in the last 9 GW’s, which is fantastic, however, he was lucky to have increased his tally in both against Swansea. He missed the penalty, but received the award for the assist (a rule which should be scrapped in my opinion) and scored a penalty, which arguably was a free kick! He won’t be so lucky against Chelsea next week!
