2 In 2 Out

It’s that time of the season when the injuries and suspensions catch us up and each game week we all have several doubts leaving us just begging for the wildcard to come. We receive our second wildcard on January 1st and I can’t wait to sort my team out. As I predicted recently in the 2 In 2 Out series, Eriksen will come good and he has, finally fining the back of the net but on the other hand Alexis Sanchez failed to gain any points against Manchester United and West Brom. I’m positive this week’s 2 in 2 out suggestions will bring in the points for your teams, let’s get on with it!

IN

Wayne Rooney (Forward, Manchester United, 10.4m)

After earning his 100th England cap and then producing that excellent performance against Scotland, Wayne Rooney has sparked into great form managing to score in his last 2 games. With Man United’s form on the rise he will be vital in creating and scoring goals in their upcoming fixtures and with no international breaks until March, no Champions League and no Capital One Cup, we should expect Wayne Rooney to feature in the majority of these games and score points. 10.4m is a very cheap price for Wayne Rooney and should be jumped on as I feel his price will rise if his current form continues.

Wilfried Bony (Forward, Swansea City, 8.4m)

Wilfried Bony has had a very quiet start to the season not managing to score 1 goal in his first 6 Premier League appearances, but since then he has flipped his form on its head and has managed to bag 6 goals in 7 games which for an 8.4m striker is worth the money. Although the majority of fantasy football managers have jumped on the Pelle bandwagon who is only 0.1m cheaper than Bony, I feel Bony is a much better player to have upfront on form. Swansea’s next 3 fixtures are; QPR (H), West Ham (A) and Spurs (H) and I would expect him to score a high amount of points in these games.

OUT

Seamus Coleman (Defender, Everton, 6.8m)

Although Seamus Coleman had the best season of his life last season and arguably a better one than his teammate and fellow wingback Leighton Baines, this season he hasn’t produced the goals and assists that 6.8m expects. Coleman has managed to earn 2 goals and 2 assists so far this campaign. In fantasy football the majority of managers make that decision on whether to get Baines or Coleman as it’s usually too expensive to cash out on both and although Baines is 0.5m more expensive than Coleman, he has managed to get 6 assists and 2 goals which is well worth the sacrifice in price. If you want to keep Coleman, fair enough, he is a great talent but I feel it’s time you made the cash sacrifice and chose Baines who is guaranteed to score you more points for your team.

Aaron Ramsey (Midfielder, Arsenal, 8.7m)

Aaron Ramsey was arguably Arsenal’s best player last season and his goals saw his team lift the FA Cup and break Arsenal’s trophy drought, but this season he just hasn’t done it. Ramsey managed to score 10 Premier League goals last season which is very impressive for a midfielder. This season he has only scored 2 so far and they came in the first 2 games of the season which just shows how his form has dipped. If a midfielder in your team isn’t scoring, you hope for them to get the assists to make up for it and Aaron Ramsey has only claimed 1 assist this season so far which just shows how poor his point scoring season has been. Ramsey would cost you 8.7m to get him into your teams and there are many cheaper replacements who will give you a better return, such as; Oscar (8.5m), Eriksen (7.9m) and Sigurdsson (6.9m). Although I really like Ramsey as a player, fantasy football is about nothing but scoring points and sometimes you have to get rid of your favourite players to ensure you score the highest amount of points, which is why the best decision for you to make is to take Ramsey out of your team until his form rises.

With Christmas coming up the games will be coming thick and fast and you’ll be required to keep changing your teams, so make sure you put the right players in and take the right players out and of course we will then see the beautiful green arrows every week. Let’s hope these recommendations treat you well.

Tom.
