FPL Updates XI – Game-week 10

Another above average week for the FPL Updates XI, however it wasn’t enough to see any green arrows, all red this week and down to 32,904! Although it should be said that this is still a very respectable rank out of 3,337,165 managers!

So this is how the team looked:

41 points overall and first of all we can see that we missed out on 8 points with Rob Green on the bench, after he managed to keep a clean sheet, make 6 saves and grabbed 1 bonus point in the Monday night kick-off. Unfortunately. we played Tim Krul who only brought in a single point. Along side him in defence we saw two clean sheets from Clyne and Taylor, but only 2 points from Wisdom and Moore combined. In all, this wasn’t a bad show from the defenders.

In midfield, it wasn’t the best week we have seen from the lads with only 14 points from the four players; 2 points from Sterling, 2 points from Di Maria, 6 points from Fabregas and 4 from Sigurdsson! Hopefully these guys will pull the strings this week and bring in a few more points than they did in Game-week 9.

Finally, up top Danny Welbeck blanked somewhat and only brought in the 1 point, but he did look promising. Our captain Pelle managed to bag himself an assist and bring the team home 10 additional points!

So onto Game-week 10 and this week we are saving the transfer! This is how we line up:

So this week both of our keepers have tough fixtures, but we are banking on Newcastle to do the better out of the two, so we start with big Tim in goal! Just in-front of him we start a back three of Clyne, van Aanholt and Wisdom, who all have attractive fixtures and we expect a good show from the lads here.

In the middle of the park we start Di Maria, Sterling, Sigurdsson and Fabregas. Whilst Di Maria has a tough fixture against Manchester City and Sigurdsson has a tricky visit to Everton, we expect Sterling and Fabregas to do well. One thing to point out here is that Sterling hasn’t been doing great as of recent, and if this form continues we may have to consider taking him out for a more in-form player.

Leading the attack we are starting; Pelle, Welbeck and yes, Costa! This is the last roll of the dice for Costa in this team, and we are going all out and giving him the captain’s armband too! If he doesn’t play he will be getting the chop, but we are willing to gamble as Chelsea welcome QPR to Stamford Bridge, so if he does play we expect him to score. The fact Remy is out and Drogba played mid-week does give some good omens, but who knows what Mourinho is thinking! We have carefully picked our vice captain just in case Costa doesn’t start and have given it to the in-form Pelle.
