FPL Updates XI Game-week 8

Game-week 7 was another very good week for the FPL Updates XI scoring a massive 61 points, which was 10 above average! Not only that, the squad rose again in the leagues, up into the top 1.2% of Fantasy Premier League managers, which is rank 39,647 to be precise! This is how the team looked:

Firstly, we can see that we marginally played the correct keeper as Krul outscored Green by a single point, but hey every little helps! However, we had a miserable time in defence with just a single point from each player. The silver lining is that there was nothing on the bench that we could have benefited from in this position, plus there was a general trend this week with a lack of points in many teams’ defences.

The midfield however was a whole different ball game, with our lowest scorer being Raheem Sterling who still managed 5 points. Ever reliable Sigurdsson managed to bring in 10 points, and Fabregas also picked up 6 points! We save the best till last as our top scorer of the week Angel Di Maria, who was also our captain, scored a massive 26 points. What a turn out this was! Let’s hope this continues so we can rise up the ranks!

Finally up top, Graziano Pelle and Danny Welbeck disappointed somewhat, only scoring 3 points between them. Diego Costa however brought in the usual points, after he scored his 9th goal of the campaign.

So game-week 8 and here are our changes:

So, this week we start with Tim Krul in goal as he definitely has the better fixture, with it being against Leicester City at home. We then start with a back three of; Clyne, Moore, and Trippier. None have majorly tough fixtures as 2 are playing at home, but surely they wont do as bad as last week’s point tally of 3 points.

Our midfield is unchanged this week, being; Di Maria, Sterling, Sigurdsson and Fabregas. Hopefully all four maestros will continue their hot form as they all have fixtures in which they could score some impressive points. After a total of 34 points from our midfield last week, we will be expecting more of the same from them, which will help the team rise in the ranks.

Game-week 8 see’s our forwards have some really tasty fixtures too, with Pelle, Costa and Welbeck facing Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Hull City respectively. Here we hope to see some big points and some relatively high score-lines.

On a final note, we have chose to captain Diego Costa this week. There has been some rumours that Mourinho will rest the Spaniard as he picked up a knock, however we expect him to play and last time this was the case he went on to score! Jose will want to gain revenge after Crystal Palace grabbed a crucial 1-0 win over Chelsea last season.
