FPL Updates XI – Gameweek 31

The international break has been and gone, and it seems like forever since we last had a set of Premier League fixtures. Before we have a look at our line up for the up and coming gameweek 31, lets have a quick look at how we did in gameweek 30:

FPL Updates

So a massive score of 89, which was 31 points above the average, and saw us rocket up the leagues, now ranked 21,502 overall which isn’t too bad if we may say so ourselves. As long as the FPL Updates team stays in the top 1% of managers it will be regarded as successful debut season for FPL Updates.

To kick things off it was Tim Krul who only managed a single point in goal which wasn’t too impressive, but with a tough fixture against Arsenal we didnt expect much more. Just in front of him our three defenders managed to bring home 10 points between them, which doesn’t seem like a lot but with the way our defence has been performing of late, we were quite happy with this as none of them scored less than 2 points!

In midfield sees the start of the serious points, as our lowest scoring midfielder managed 5 points, which isn’t too bad. So with Eriksen (5), Silva (9), Cazorla (6) and Hazard (9) bringing in good scores, it saw us bring in a total of 29 points just from our four midfielders! Lets hope these lads keep it up!

Finally, up top saw us score 49 points from the three strikers! Captain Kane… Do we need to explain much here? 34 points from the young Englishman did us very nicely. Olivier Giroud continued his top form and scored the team 13 points, whilst Aguero continued to be Aguero and blanked again. We won’t rush to remove the Argentine as surely its is only a matter of time before he starts grabbing the goals again, right? So down to this week and the changes:

Foster (OUT) -> Myhill (IN)

Cameron (OUT) – > Ivanovic (IN)

Firstly we have taken Foster out for Myhill, as Foster is out for the rest of the season and with Myhill starting, he is a bargain! Secondly we have taken Cameron out, as he is no longer starting, and put in Ivanovic, who will definitely come in handy for the up and coming double gameweek for Chelsea.

So here is how the team line up:

FPL Updates

So Myhill comes straight into the squad and starts for us against QPR at home. Just in front of him our other new boy, Ivanovic starts with a home game against Stoke City, whilst Naughton plays Hull City at home and Hutton has a double gameweek against Manchester United and QPR. Here it can be seen that there is potential for some good points in defence for our team, which can’t have been said in the past few weeks!

In the middle of the park we start an unchanged four of; Eriksen, Silva, Cazorla and Hazard. All have been showing some really good form of late, and this has been reflected in their fantasy football scores. Long may this continue…

Finally up top we start the usual suspects of Giroud, Kane and Aguero. Aguero has dipped in form of late, but we are sure it won’t be long until he starts finding the back of the net again. Giroud and Kane on the other hand haven’t had any trouble in finding the back of the net, but as Giroud has the tougher fixture (Liverpool) this week, it see’s us pass the captain’s armband to Harry Kane who faces a visit to Burnley.
