Game-week 9 Captaincy Analysis

With Game-week 8 all over, we are all eagerly awaiting the next! Last week highlighted the need to ensure you always make a good vice captaincy pick, as over 40% captained Diego Costa who didn’t feature. The injury rumors came around Friday that the Spaniard may miss out so unfortunately, we recommended captaining Costa last week as the article was released on the Thursday.

Anyway here’s how the picks did:

Pick 1 – Diego Costa – 0 points
Pick 2 – Angel Di Maria – 5 points
The Differential – Christian Benteke – 2 points
The Gamble – Raheem Sterling – 7 points

So, not the greatest. Hopefully our picks for this week work out a little better!

1. Grazino Pelle (STK)

Southampton brought the Italian in this summer, and there were questions whether or not he would suit the Premier League, and I think he has showed us all that he does! With 6 goals and 2 assists in 8 games, he has been on fire to say the least. With a game against Stoke coming up this week, Pelle could continue his hot form here.

2. Sergio Aguero (WHU)

Last week, every time Aguero picked up the ball, it looked like he was going to score! He was in inspired form, and we can only see this continuing as Manchester City visit West Ham this coming game-week. With the Argentine already having 9 Premier League goals to his name and a goal mid-week against CSKA as a boost, he may just want to increase his tally and put down a real marker in the race for the season’s top goal-scorer.

Differential – Romelu Lukaku (BUR)

With just under 10% ownership, Everton’s man up top Romelu Lukaku could have a field day this coming week against Burnley. Everton won’t have it all their own way, however if they can break them down and get an early goal or two, the flood gates could open. Roberto Martinez and his men will want to pick up the pace as they are currently sitting down in 14th.

Gamble – Diego Costa (MUN)

Last week a late injury ruled Costa out against Crystal Palace, and unfortunately many managers captained him (including myself) as we thought Mourinho was playing more mind games. This week Chelsea are off to Old Trafford, and Costa will have the chance to repay all those Fantasy Football managers that have stuck with him. Rumours are that the striker may be ruled out for 3 weeks but with Loic Remy picking up an injury against Maribor mid-week, will Mourinho take a gamble and include Costa in his game-week 9 squad?
