Gameweek 14 has been and gone, and now here we are with our gameweek 15 preview, along with our star man picks for each game:
Newcastle v Chelsea
It really is hard to see anyone beating Chelsea this season however in last year’s fixture; the Toon came out with an impressive win over them, and Jose Mourinho has never won at St James’ Park. We would still expect a very strong performance from the Blues though.
STAR MAN – Eden HAZARD
The Belgian winger is starting to get back to his best, with a goal in his last game, and his overall form is starting to improve on the pitch.
Hull City v West Brom
Hull put an end to their poor run of form with an impressive point in midweek, whereas West Bromwich Albion have lost four games in a row with their goals completely drying up. The Tigers should come out on top in this relegation battle.
STAR MAN – Andrew ROBERTSON
The Scottish wingback is likely to get a clean sheet in this fixture against such a poor side so far this season, and his bursting runs have also led to great balls being put into the box.
Liverpool v Sunderland
Liverpool are staring to gain some momentum with two wins on the spin, and they should continue this winning run against a Sunderland side who have only won two games all season, so it should be a pretty easy three points.
STAR MAN – Steven GERRARD
This midfield maestro proved the other day that he still is Liverpool’s best midfielder and he should be on more bursting runs in his new attacking role.
QPR v Burnley
This is a huge relegation battle so this tight six-pointer will be extremely vital to both sides. Burnley are unbeaten in four, whilst Queens Park Rangers have been rather impressive at home this season, so a home win is probably the result.
STAR MAN – Charlie AUSTIN
The top-scoring English striker in the league this season, Austin has a good eye for the back of the net at home.
Stoke City v Arsenal
Despite all the concern surrounding Arsene Wenger, Arsenal have won three matches on the spin, whilst Stoke have been incredibly inconsistent this season but we expect the Gunners to still grab the three points.
STAR MAN – Alexis SANCHEZ
Effectively running the North London side, Alexis has been the shining light for the North London side.
Tottenham v Crystal Palace
There have been glimpses of something special for Tottenham, and they are slowly but surely making progress up the table. The Eagles though are still finding their feet under Neil Warnock so the Spurs should come out on top.
STAR MAN – Eric DIER
Dier popped up with two goals earlier in the season, and we feel we should give him a chance to get on the score sheet once more, as well as his clean sheet.
Manchester City v Everton
The champions are starting to play some dominant football, shipping seven goals in their last two games so they should win rather comfortably against an Everton team who are still trying to find the right balance between domestic and European football.
STAR MAN – Sergio AGUERO
The league’s current top scorer is a must have in anyone’s team, he simply cannot stop scoring and should find the net again.
West Ham v Swansea
It is rather odd that this is in fact a top six clash so there should be a lot of quality on show, but since the two sides are so close to each other in the table then a draw is the most likely outcome in this fixture.
STAR MAN – Stewart DOWNING
His performances this season have got him an England call-up and Downing once again assisted in midweek.
Aston Villa v Leicester City
The Foxes really need to get their act together as they have not won in nine games, and they travel to Aston Villa who have not been great this season either. It is hard to see Leicester getting anything from the game since they have been so poor this season.
STAR MAN – Brad GUZAN
One of the best shot-stoppers in the league, a home clean sheet is probably your best bet in a tie like this.
Southampton v Manchester United
Van Gaal has subtly taken Manchester United back into the top four, and Southampton are on an unfortunate but poor run of form at the moment. This top 4 clash should have lots of goals, but United will probably get the victory.
STAR MAN – Juan MATA
Mata has proved to his manager that he deserves to be in the starting eleven with his goals from attacking midfield and his quality range of passing.
Dean.
