Under the Radar – Gameweek 15

So with a superb midweek gameweek over it’s time to get back to the usual layout of fantasy football. BOTH Under the Radar picks for gameweek 14 delivered in the form of; a goal and two bonus points for Juan Mata (9 points) and an assist coupled with a bonus point for Everton’s man Kevin Mirallas (7 points). So now you’ve seen the wonderful differential world at work I’ll move onto the picks for gameweek 15.

Let’s go.

CHRISTIAN BENTEKE, £7.9M, 0.5% TSB

Benteke’s first game back from suspension was against Palace at Selhurst Park in midweek and it saw him grab an all important goal for Villa. I personally put Benteke in at the last minute before the gameweek 14 deadline, and the risk paid off! With some great fixtures coming up the big Belgian striker really is a great shout for a differential. His side are at home to Leicester on Sunday, a team who have really been down in the dumps lately, with their most recent blow coming in the form of a red card for skipper Wes Morgan. With that in mind I think Benteke could really do some damage against a lack-lustre Leicester defence, who seem to be leaking goals at the moment – conceding 6 in their last two games. There is no denying Benteke’s class and personally I think he could warrant a place in any top half side, however there is still real fantasy football potential for the forward at Villa Park. If you’re struggling up top and looking for someone who can lift your spirits then why not go for Christian Benteke, a cheap and fairly reliable alternative.

ANDY CARROLL, £6.9M, 0.1% TSB

A HUGE risk this one, but a risk that would pay off massively if it comes through. Andy Carroll’s return to West Ham, coupled with star striker Diafra Sakho’s injury, meant instant game time for the Englishman. Despite several question marks surrounding his ability there have been some promising stats appearing about Carroll. An assist in midweek (coming from an audacious attempt at a bicycle kick) bodes well with the 13 goal attempts that the forward has had in just 4 matches. Carroll’s potential is limited but with decent fixtures emerging for the Hammers in the next 3 gameweeks he might be worth a punt if you are looking for a temporary striker in order to fund a big money midfielder such as Sanchez or Hazard.

So there you have it, another addition of under the radar is over and another gameweek of fantasy football is upon us. Once again good luck to everyone and let’s hope for an exciting week in the Barclays Premier League.
