Gameweek 37 – Avids Predicts

Southampton v Aston Villa (Saturday 12:45)

If you’d asked me what the result would have been in the middle on the season it’d be easy to tip the Saints. However, with only 1 win and clean sheet in the last six for Southampton, Villa look the more likely to leave St. Marys triumphant. Villa have won 4 out of their last 5 only falling to defeat against Man City in a hard fought 3-2 game where Tom Cleverley began to find his goal scoring form. It’s worth mentioning that Southampton are down to their third choice keeper, who’s frankly pritty poor.

Prediction: Southampton 1-2 Aston Villa.

Burnley v Stoke City (Saturday 15:00)

With Burnley already relegated and Stoke having a record total of 50 points still with 2 games to spare both teams don’t really have anything to play for. That being said this weekend’s fixture will be Burnley’s last home game of the season; they’ll want to go down with a fight.

Prediction: Burnley 1-1 Stoke.

Queens Park Rangers v Newcastle United (Saturday 15:00)

QPR are down. Newcastle with no win in 9 and just 2 points above the relegation zone. Interesting fact is that TIm Krul has never conceded a goal against Newcastle. This game will not be entertaining. I fancy a draw with random scorers for both sides.

Prediction: QPR 1-1 Newcastle.

Sunderland v Leicester City (Saturday 15:00)

This game could really go either way. Leicester are looking pretty safe now having collected 18 out of the last 21 available. However, like Newcastle, Sunderland are hovering 2 points above the relegation zone so with be looking for one more win. Pantilimon will rack up the save points alongside Schmeichel in a hard fought relegation scrap seeing both be safe come the end of it

Prediction: Sunderland 0-0 Leicester.

Tottenham Hotspur v Hull City (Saturday 15:00)

Spurs season is staggering to an end, picking up only 1 draw from the last three games. Hull need to win one of their last two games to stand any chance of staying up. Tottenham’s wonder boy Kane has only one goal is his last 6 but I reckon he’ll return to form come Saturday banging in a few goals in his last home game of the season.

Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 Hull City

West Ham United v Everton (Saturday 15:00)

Despite racing out of the blocks, West Ham’s seasons been somewhat average. Everton on the other hand have had a shocker. Finishing 5th last season, Everton fans would haveve been hoping for another successful season. Lukaku has been somewhat disappointing after his £30m summer move from Chelsea.

Prediction: West Ham United 1-0 Everton

Liverpool v Crystal Palace (Saturday 17:30)

Remember the reserve fixture last year? Liverpool were 3-1 one up with 5 minutes left, on course the win the league and well Tony Pulis laugh, need I say more? This one again will be a similar affair a high scoring draw is in the cards.

Prediction: Liverpool 2-2 Crystal Palace.

Swansea City v Manchester City (Sunday 13:30)

Swansea have an outside chance of finishing 6th with a run of 3 straight wins. Meanwhile, City are looking to solidify 2nd place with 4 straight wins. Arguably the 2 most of form teams in the league, but without Bony I just don’t see Swansea as such a threat. Aguero and Silva are on the best form of their lives and will look to continue this at the weekend.

Prediction: Swansea 1-3 Manchester City

Manchester United v Arsenal (Sunday 16:00)

The blockbuster clash of the weekend between ye’ old faithful. United are actually performing well. Ashley Young’s keeping Di Maria out of the side which is absolutely hilarious. Arsenal will no doubt rest a few players judging by the fact they also have a game on Wednesday and the FA Cup final to contend with. This will be a cagey one.

Prediction: Manchester United 1-1 Arsenal

West Bromich Albion v Chelsea (Monday 20:00)

West Brom are safe while Chelsea are champions. Last week against Liverpool we saw Chelsea make 5 changes to the side. I wouldn’t be surprised if Loftus-Cheek continued in the middle of the field at the expense of Fabregas this week. The game could really go either way but I’m confident Mourinho will want to finish Chelsea’s season with only 2 losses in the league.

Prediction: West Bromich Albion 0-2 Chelsea

Arsenal v Sunderland (Wednesday 19:45)

By the time this fixture gets played it’s possible that Sunderland are in the bottom three. However, I don’t see this happening. This season Arsenal have a phenomenal record against the bottom half teams and I see no reason for this to stop. Sanchez will score in this fixture mark my words.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-0 Sunderland
