Gameweek 38 Preview

All good things must come to an end. There have been ups and downs in this thrilling fantasy Premier League season but for the final time this campaign; let’s take a look at who the hot picks are for gameweek 38. Thanks to everyone for taking the time to read the previews and we look forward to doing it again in the 2015/16 season. It’s time to finish off in style.

ARSWBAArsenal v West Brom

You just do not know what to expect with Tony Pulis’ team. Wins and clean sheets against Chelsea and Manchester United in recent weeks have thrown this fixture up in the air, but Arsene Wenger is a no nonsense manager so we’d expect a home win.

Star Man – Alexis SANCHEZ

The Chilean has been the joy and sensation of the Gunners’ season, with his goals and assists magical at times.

AVLBURAston Villa v Burnley

Burnley have already been relegated but will want to leave the Premier League on a high, following four points out of a possible six in the previous fortnight. Villa are safe and may rest a few ahead of their cup final.

Star Man – Christian BENTEKE

This Belgian beast has come to life under Tim Sherwood, and has twelve goals in his last eleven appearances.

CHESUNChelsea v Sunderland

The champions recorded a shock loss last time out but will want to put in a priceless performance ahead of lifting the Premier League trophy at Stamford Bridge. The away side meanwhile are the last team to win in the league in West London.

Star Man – John TERRY

Captain, leader, legend. Terry has played the most minutes out of any Premier League player this season.

CRYSWACrystal Palace v Swansea

These are two teams who have both enjoyed successful spells during 2013/14. Palace have just come off the back of winning at Anfield, whilst Swansea’s last away win was at the Emirates so I would call a score draw here.

Star Man – Yannick BOLASIE

Touted by many to be on the move in the summer transfer window, Bolasie got two assists in that win at Liverpool.

EVETOTEverton v Tottenham

Everton and Tottenham are both teams that would most probably have liked to have had better seasons had they not had the upheaval of a Europa League run in the meantime. This game could go either way.

Star Man – Nacer CHADLI

Chadli’s overall season tally is thirteen goals and has been under the radar, perhaps unfairly. He should be lively in this one.

HULMUNHull City v Manchester United

Perhaps the match of the weekend, Manchester United will want to avoid a qualification round for the Champions League whilst Hull need to win in order to stay up. Could it be a magical return for Steve Bruce against his former club?

Star Man – Nikica JELAVIC

Well the Tigers are going to go for it, and the Croatian was so unlucky not to net in his last game having hit the crossbar.

LEIQPRLeicester City v QPR

This match sees two of the promoted sides do battle, but with different outcomes in their seasons back in the big time. The Foxes managed to pull of the great escape, whilst Queens Park Rangers are going back down.

Star Man – Jeffrey SCHLUPP

Five clean sheets in the previous seven weeks has been phenomenal for Leicester, and the Ghanaian has been attacking well as well as defending with good strength and pace.

MCISOUManchester City v Southampton

The former champions are about to give up their crown in what has been a rather topsy turvy and nervy campaign for them. Koeman has worked wonders with the Saints and who knows what he can achieve at the Etihad.

Star Man – Frank LAMPARD

Super Frank makes his Premier League bow having played in the league all his life. Let’s give this legend a bit of faith.

NEWWHUNewcastle v West Ham

It should be a happy return for Sam Allardyce as he retraces his steps back up north to the Toon. John Carver has picked up one point since February in what has been a remarkably negative turnaround and his side could go down.

Star Man – Stewart DOWNING

Albeit a dip in form in the second half of the season, Downing has enjoyed many goals including one last week.

STKLIVStoke City v Liverpool

Mark Hughes is about to finish in the top ten for the second successive season and is perhaps the unsung manager of the season. Liverpool have not secured fifth place so there may be a bit to play for in this finale tie.

Star Man – Steven GERRARD

Another legend of not just football but Fantasy Premier League bids farewell. Gerrard is also Liverpool’s top scorer this season.

Dean Ammi.
