WooFBet Bloggers of the Month – Week 2

So it was an extremely poor start to the WooFBet Bloggers of the Month tournament by FPL Updates, who currently sit rock bottom of the table, whilst FPL Avids managed to make it to a respectable 6th place! Firstly lets look at the FPL Updates team:

So some rotten luck saw the FPL Updates team slump to the bottom of the league, with Naughton, Costa and Walker all picking up injuries, meaning that they all picked up a solitary point a piece, whilst Harry Kane did nothing either. This week we have tried not to panic too much, and have gone with the following line up:

Defence

So in defence, the first thing to note is that we haven’t taken out Naughton or Walker just yet. We can’t afford any point hits at the moment, and Walker may still have a chance of featuring this week. We have doubled up with Southampton coverage at the back as they go and face Hull City this week, so hopefully a clean sheet or two here will be nice. Meanwhile we start Lescott who faces off against Leicester City. Finally we have put Walker in our starting line up, but if he isn’t fit enough to start we will have Schlupp come in for him, which will mean we will be hoping for a 0-0 against West Brom!

Midfield

In the middle of the park we are unchanged. We are trying not to panic too much, but as these lads do generally produce good fantasy football returns, hopefully they can prove to us that last week was just a blip. Saying that Hazard doesn’t need to prove anything, as if it wasn’t for him we would have been well off the pace and might have as well thrown the towel in!

Now, this is were we did panic! Costa is replaced by who else… REMY! The tournament runs until gameweek 34, which will suit Loic Remy down to a tee, as this is when Costa is expected to be back. As he faces his old team this week, we do fancy him to get a goal of two so we have also provisionally given him the captains armband (this may change). Alongside him we have Kane and Aguero who both blanked last week… Don’t let us down again lads!

So, here is @FPLAvids‘s Lineup:

Avids

Defence

Our starting keeper has to be Myhill this week with a tasty home fixture to bottom side Leicester. Fabianski drops to the bench. Lescott is also featuring from West Brom as I look to take advantage of doubling up on the Pulis backline. Bertrand, although I benched him last week deserves a starting spot. Home to struggling Hull City a clean sheet is surely on the horizon. The last spot in my defence wasn’t so straightforward. Terry away to QPR, Moreno at home to Newcastle or Rose home to Villa. In the end I’ve picked Moreno. Villa with Benteke and QPR with Austin look more likely to score than Newcastle, but it could be a risky move benching Terry with his aerial threat.

Midfield

In midfield Hazard, Silva and Eriksen are obviously starting but this week Sigurdsson drops to the bench. Bolasie away to Sunderland offers more of a threat and hopefully my rotation strategy works.

Strikers

Up top is where you may be surprised. With Costa’s injury last week this is obviously where I utilised my transfer. I didn’t perhaps go with the obvious pick. Berahino was my choice. Against Leicester I fancy him to bag a goal and with Palace and Liverpool after I can see him being a mainstay in my team for the remainder of the campaign. Kane and Rooney complete my attacking line in a more usual manner. This weeks armband is going to Berahino, it’s all about the differentials in this tournament after all!

Let gameweek 32 begin!
