Captaincy Analysis – Gameweek 7 FPL Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Welcome to another week of fantasy premier league football and another FPL captaincy analysis for the upcoming gameweek 7. Firstly we must reflect on the gameweek just gone, and Anthony Martial will take some of the headlines after his brace on the south coast but beyond that Hazard, Mahrez and Callum Wilson all had impressive weeks. Now as always we will review how last week’s picks fared:

1. Christian Benteke – 1 point

2. David Silva – 0 points

3. Callum Wilson – 7 points

Differential – Anthony Martial – 12 points

Gamble – Harry Kane – 2 points

Now onto the matter at hand which is the gameweek 7 captaincy analysis:

1. Anthony Martial (SUN)

The teenager has made a flying start to life in the Premier League with 3 goals in his first 2 games. He scored 2 fine goals on Sunday which has prompted the bandwagon that beats all bandwagons. Over 400,000 have jumped on the Frenchman already with that number expected to surpass 1 million by the deadline on Saturday. His composure in front of goal is special and it should see him lead the line for the foreseeable future. This week Man United host Sunderland who lie bottom of the table without a win. On paper you would expect Man United to run riot at Old Trafford which is why Martial is such a popular captaincy choice.

2. Dimitri Payet (NOR)

The dynamic midfielder has been a revelation since his arrival from Marseille and has been West Ham’s best player so far and looks to be the key to any success the Hammers have this season. West Ham are at home to Norwich this week and although Norwich will cause problems I’d expect Payet to perform well this week. A good captaincy choice.

3. Ross Barkley (WBA)

The Everton midfielder has had a good start to the campaign although it has largely passed under the radar. Barkley has racked up an impressive 37 points so far and judging by his masterful (yet somehow fruitless) performance against an impressive Swansea side I can see Barkley doing well against a struggling West Brom on Monday night. A risky but calculated captaincy option.

Differential – Callum Wilson (STK)

The Bournemouth striker has scored 5 goals so far this season which makes him joint top scorer (along with our gamble pick). He has notched an impressive 37 points which makes him the highest scoring striker in the game and with him leading the line in an exciting Cherries side, many are banking on Wilson getting a decent return against a winless Stoke side this week. A great differential captain.

Gamble – Riyad Mahrez (ARS)

We couldn’t go through a whole article without mentioning this man could we? The Algerian is playing with great tenacity right now and seems to deliver the goods whenever he takes to the pitch, everyone knows that this form won’t last but while he’s playing like he is now it would take a brave man to disregard the Leicester midfielder from their captaincy deliberations. At the end of the day it’s difficult to ignore 5 goals, 3 assists and 58 points, all of which have come in 6 games! The only thing that would cast doubt into a manager’s mind would be his fixture against Arsenal. Although the gunners are struggling in the league it’s difficult to have enough confidence in Leicester to do a job over Arsenal to captain him with so many viable alternatives, however fixtures haven’t affected his returns thus far. A classic gamble captain, from a player with a tough fixture. The rewards are there if you are brave enough.

As always thanks for taking the time to read our analysis and may your arrows be green!
