This week we do have a change… With JNO United‘s recent success, he will be representing the FPL Updates team. So, without further ado, here is JNO and the FPL Updates team:

FPL Updates

I’m a creature of habit. I find it difficult to pick expensive defenders, and don’t like putting all my eggs in one basket. It’s worked for me so far, so I’m looking at Swansea to keep out a dishevelled Crystal Palace with Fabianski. I’m hoping Afobe doesn’t prove a point against his old club as I’ve picked Gabriel to keep his place over Mertersacker. Aston Villa are a dead fish at the bottom of the Premier League ocean, so Martin from Norwich is drafted in, and joined by Winston Reid as Southampton still struggle to become a creative force attacking wise.

As for attacking players, I’ve tried to spread my bets, but I find it way too easy to pick two Tottenham players. Dele Alli is on fire, but Eriksen has had good underlying stats and Alli was rested because of illness. I’m hoping this pick will give me an advantage. Antonio has been quietly scoring points and is only 5.0m. Aaron Lennon is a gamble but cheap at 6.6m in an Everton side that score goals. And finally, Sigurdsson seems to be finding that form that makes him a dangerous player at least once a season.

Finally up front, I’ve gone all out. Sanchez had lots of chances against Southampton last gameweek, but Fraser Forster kept Arsenal out. I don’t see Bournemouth stopping him and he’s due a big score. Liverpool face Sunderland and the only player that looks like a point scorer is Firmino. And finally, Tottenham are on form, and Harry Kane is their only striking option and is putting the ball in the back of the net.

Hopefully it’s another top place finish for me this week.

Now onto FPL Avids and his team:

FPL Avids

Believe it or not, I’m not a Palace fan, I swear! I might be deluded going for a triple Palace defence who haven’t kept a clean sheet in 4 PL matches but there’s method in my madness. They’re away to Swansea who only managed to put in one against a West Brom side who can’t keep a clean sheet themselves.

Triple Newcastle, are you mad mate? I’m really not. Newcastle are at home to previously mentioned West Brom. If Newcastle want to stay up this season these are the sort of games they should be winning. New signing Townsend could use his pace effectively against a slow WBA backline while Wijnaldum is just class. Coloccini is just in for the banter really.

A third triple up in the form of an in-form Spurs team. Alongside Leicester, Spurs have probably been the most consistent team in the league. With the best defence in the league and in-form forwards up top, it makes sense to me. Wonderkid Alli and Eriksen in midfield with Super ‘Arry Kane up top.

Aguero‘s obviously in my team with 5 in his last 3. Firmino also makes an appearance and is against Sunderland at home. Decent fixture for the makeshift striker.

Note: Both teams are subject to change. May the best FPL manager win!
