Challenge the Pundits – Gameweek 30 FPL Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 30 is a short FPL gameweek with only 5 games, however we will make the most of this by once again teaming up with the guys over at Premier Punt and running an FPL ‘Challenge The Pundits’ league! If you think your Fantasy Premier League skills can beat us, why not challenge us?

This week, the league is again £1 entry, with the pot itself being split! At the bottom of the article we will include some of the draft line-ups from the pundits involved and other competitors, so if you do join, send us your teams via Twitter and we will include them too!

So, if you think you can beat us, why not come and challenge us?

Here is how to join:

In order to join the league, you need to follow some simple steps:

  1. Log-in or register on the Premier Punt website
  2. Once logged in, choose “Barclays Premier League – Game Week 30”
  3. Pick the team you think will beat us…
  4. Join the challenge “Challenge The Pundits”

No JNO this week, so we are representing ourselves! So without further ado, here is the FPL Updates team:

To kick things off we have gone with Manchester City keeping a clean sheet against Norwich, so in come Joe Hart and their captain Vincent Kompany. Alongside them we have Naughton and Wimmer, who should keep clean sheets against Bournemouth and Aston Villa, but they both do provide an attacking threat too.

If Swansea can’t keep a clean sheet then we are banking on Matt Ritchie having something to do with this and he does have the tendency of unlocking defences with his ability to provide and assist, so we may see some points here. Mahrez is our second midfielder and as they play Newcastle this week, nothing more needs to be said. Sigurdsson has started to find his feet again in the Premier League and looks to be helping Swansea to safety. Hopefully he will continue his good form against Bournemouth. Our final midfielder is Spurs’ Dele Alli, who will want to bounce back after their 3-0 defeat midweek.

Finally up top we start with a trio of fantasy football powerhouses; Sergio Aguero, Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane. With games against Norwich, Newcastle and Aston Villa, it is fair to say we are expecting some goals from these boys and with that being said, Aguero is given the armband!

Now onto FPL Avids and his team:

Very limited choice this week with only 5 games available to pick from.

Villa v Spurs: Wimmer is benefiting from Vertonghen’s injury. Eriksen is Eriksen and top class. Super Harry Kane is bound to score against a Championship level Villa.

Norwich v City: Some will be surprised that I haven’t tripled up. However, Silva has an ongoing ankle problem that he’s playing through so I don’t see him playing the full 90. Kompany and Aguero will be key in this fixture.

Bournemouth v Swans. Both teams are looking like they’ll stay up this season. Rangel & Sigurdsson are good picks from the Swans as if they score, Siggy’s their biggest threat. If they fail to keep a clean sheet Matt Ritchie has a chance of being involved in the goal with his awesome free kicks.

Forster‘s in goal for me as he’s still at the rock bottom price of 5.0m after coming back from injury.

And finally, I’ve got a feeling Newcastle will score against Leicester trying to impress their new manager, so I’ve opted not to use one of their defenders. Vahrez (Vardy and Mahrez) are must have’s every week.

Note: Both teams are subject to change. May the best FPL manager win!
