So without further ado, here is the FPL Updates team managed by JNO United:
Wait, I’m still in a job here?
So……….. I’m going with David De Gea in goal because he’s the best keeper in the league and they are coming up against a Norwich side that I personally don’t see scoring against United. I know they are fighting for survival but I just don’t see it going well for the Canaries. Joining him in defence is newly crowned league champion defender Christian Fuchs, who I think will be able to keep Everton at bay, Smalling who should play with De Gea and Aaron Cresswell as West Ham face Swansea as they chase the dream of Champions League football.
The midfield looks so different to what it usually would. Apart from Payet, I don’t think I’ve considered any of these midfielders very often this season. Hazard looks to have finally woken up from his nightmare of a season, Sadio Mane is explosive and I remember him scoring a lot at the end of last season, and Andros Townsend could be the only reason Newcastle stay up this year.
And the front three also looks hugely different. Jermain Defoe is to Sunderland what Townsend is to Newcastle. Andy Carroll seems to be in form and his team are creating chances. Finally, Martial is starting to show why Manchester United paid so much for him.
Anyway, best of luck to everyone entering and see you all next week.
Now onto FPL Avids and his team:
The 3 men that are shining in Newcastle’s survival battle. Stand in keeper, Darlow, young centre-back Lascelles and recently transferred Townsend. All three have something extra to play for in a must win game. Townsend is looking to sneak on to the plane to the Euros, and in my opinion he deserves it more than the likes of Walcott. Darlow will be looking to prove a point for next season that he should be higher up in the pecking order and Lascelles looks like a future Newcastle captain. Away to Villa, a win to nil is what I’m predicting.
United away to Norwich deserves another double up; Rojo and Smalling. Although they have a game in hand over Newcastle, I reckon the Canaries are already down.
Hazard‘s looking like his old self with 3 goals in his last 1 and a half matches. Aguero will hopefully be up for the challenge of Arsenal and most likely securing Champions League football under Pep with a positive result. Kane will be looking to add to his already impressive 25 league goals this season.
That leaves my triple West Ham. Payet, Lanzini and Carroll will be key in determining if the Hammers season finishes in glory. With the time at Upton Park coming to an end, they’ll be pushing to secure Europa League football for next season.
Note: Teams are subject to change. May the best FPL manager win!
