FPL Updates XI – Gameweek 1 Second Draft FPL Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Over two weeks have now passed since the Fantasy Premier League site was officially re-opened and if you haven’t signed up and joined our league, do it now! Whilst we are all waiting for the 8th August, many of us are still tinkering with our fantasy football teams, with various headaches over FPL selections already! If you missed our first draft, check it out here before you read any further and see what changes we have made to the original team.

Anyway, lets get too it, by popular demand, here it is the FPL Updates XI – second draft.

Firstly, lets take a look at the changes we have made from the first draft:

Schmeichel (OUT) -> Cech (IN)
Speroni (OUT) -> Butland (IN)
Cook (OUT) -> Mings (IN)
Depay (OUT) -> Sterling (IN)
Cabaye (OUT) -> Ritchie (IN)
Toure (OUT) -> Walcott (IN)
Kane (OUT) -> Benteke (IN)
Costa (OUT) -> Rooney (IN)

Here is how we will potentially line up for game week one:

Team

Goalkeepers

In between the sticks we have two new keepers. We have upgraded one of our keepers to the more expensive Petr Cech, who will be looking forward to first team football at Arsenal and we think he will do well at the Emirates. We have also brought in Jack Butland who has been tipped as the Stoke City number one keeper and although he doesn’t have much Premier League experience, he does rotate reasonably well with Petr Cech.

Defence

There has only been one change at the back, and this is a swap between two of the Bournemouth defenders, bringing in Tyrone Mings for Steve Cook. As many of you pointed out, Mings may have a little more attacking potential than the likes of Cook, hence the straight switch. Other than that we keep our faith in the likes of; Cedric, Ward, O’Shea and Pudil.

Midfield

The only players to keep hold of his place in the middle of the park was Eden Hazard and Gareth Barry. Depay has departed for Raheem Sterling, who does look sharp already in pre-season and he even managed to grab a goal within 3 minutes of his Manchester City debut. Theo Walcott also came in for Yaya Toure. The Ivorian powerhouse didn’t have the best of seasons last year, whereas Walcott finished last season on fire and has done well in pre-season thus far. Finally, Yohan Cabaye made way for the much tipped Matt Ritchie, this transfer was purely in aid of raising some funds, but to keep some form of balance to the team. We expect both players will do well.

Strikers

Up top there were two changes. Firstly we brought Wayne Rooney in. This transfer was due to the fact that we have removed Depay, so we need some Manchester United cover and he is our man of choice. Playing up top now, we think he will thrive off balls from the likes of Depay, Mata and Di Maria (if still at the club). We also brought Christian Benteke in, as he looks to be a bargain now he has joined Liverpool and he also has some nice opening fixtures. For these transfers to be made we had to get rid of Kane and Costa who both will remain on our radar, with Lukaku the only surviving striker from the first draft!

So there you have it. The FPL Updates XI second draft, we’re sure it will change even more. Let us know on twitter (@fpl_updates) who you think we should look to bring in!
