Gameweek 10 Preview – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 10 in the 2015/2016 FPL season is upon us and there is a lot to look forward to. The big Manchester derby along with several other 6 pointers is what makes this league one of the best if not the best in the world!

AVLSOU

Aston Villa vs Swansea

Swansea’s fantastic start to the season has faded away. Centre forward, Gomis, hasn’t scored since August and the spark they provided is nowhere to be found. This has lead to them being placed in 14th. Aston Villa have worryingly found themselves in a relegation scrap due to several defensive errors and a lack of chemistry among team mates. If Swansea want to revive their season, this weekend is a fantastic opportunity to do so.

Star Man – Jefferson Montero

While neither team currently have a stand out player, Montero’s speedy nature will be the key to success for Swansea. Providing for the likes of Gomis will be Montero’s main job this weekend and if he does it well it could be key to ensure Swansea win.

Prediction – Aston Villa 0-1 Swansea

LEICRY

Leicester City vs Crystal Palace

Both teams sit in the Europa League places currently. Leicester once again came back Southampton in a match that ended 2-2. Whereas, while Palace got off to a good start, a sending off and inability to keep West Ham at bay late on lead to their 4th defeat of the season. With the attacking quality of each side, we don’t think the defenders on both teams will struggle to keep clean sheets.

Star Man – Jamie Vardy

The Premier League’s top scorer, currently with 9 goals, has proven vital to the Leicester team. To the annoyance of many FPL players, Mahrez has not started his last two but that has been no problem for Vardy who is still scoring consistently.

Prediction – Leicester City 2-3 Crystal Palace

NORWBA

Norwich vs West Brom

A shock 6-2 loss for Norwich has left them exposed. Whereas, West Brom, although winning last week, don’t look like a team who will be able to capitalise on the Canaries battering against Newcastle. Furthermore, Norwich may also struggle against West Brom, with their leaky defence of late, however they could pull off another shock!

Star Man – Boaz Myhill

With Foster out with a long term injury, Myhill has shone in his chance as first team goalkeeper. He has managed to jkeep the highest amount of clean sheets in the Premier League (5) this season, it doesn’t look like much is getting past him. The goalie is keeping loanee Lindegaard out of action and I belive that when Foster does return, Myhill’s form will keep him in the first team.

Prediction – Norwich 0-0 West Brom

STKWAT

Stoke City vs Watford

Watford are currently doing the best out of all 3 promoted sides, but only better them by one point in 15th. Stoke on the other hand, haven’t lost since gameweek 5, but are only an arms length away from their opponents. They are currently missing their main striker Diouf and the impacts of this were shown on Monday night, as they were only able to scramble together a 1-0 win. Watford were defeated 3-0 to an in form Arsenal, but will be confident of giving Stoke a run for their money this weekend.

Star Man – Bojan Krkic

The 5.3m priced attacker is a good option as a replacement for Diouf. He carries lots of skill and we expect that he will provide a lot more FPL points this week.

Prediction – Stoke 1-1 Watford

WHUCHE

West Ham vs Chelsea

The Hammers will be relishing their London derby with the Blue’s, who although gained 3 points last week, did not display a dominant performance. Slaven Bilic showed the many attacking options West Ham have available with Sakho, Zarate, Carroll and Jelavic all making appearances in their 3-1 victory against Crystal Palace. This is likely to be a tight affair and Mourinho will hope Costa can continue his scoring form, but nothing is certain at the moment in the Chelsea camp.

Star Man – Manuel Lanzini

Victor Moses was excellent down the flanks against Palace, but due to his ineligibility, he cannot feature against his parent club. Therefore, fellow West Ham midfielder, Lanzini, gets the pick this week. He scored the crucial goal last week and also provided superb support to the strikers. He may prove tricky for the Chelsea defence.

Prediction – West Ham 2-1 Chelsea

ARSEVE

Arsenal vs Everton

The Gunners have turned their season around and are possibly the team with the best form in the Premier League as things stand. Arsenal’s whole squad has contributed to their victories and Wegner has finally found his attack. They are proving to be unstoppable and this week their challenege comes in the form of Everton who, oddly lost 3-0 to Manchester United. Yet I don’t think it will be a walk in the park for Arsenal, as Everton at times have proven one of the hardest teams in the league to face.

Star Man – Alexis Sanchez

The Chilean continues what he begun a few weeks back. He is currently fantasy football perfection and although he will set you back 11.4m, he is a must have.

Prediction – Everton 1-2 Arsenal

SUNNEW

Sunderland vs Newcastle

Sunderland and their new managers love the Tyne Wear derby. Big Sam must approach this fixture carefully, as a slip up will indefinitely anger the fans. I do fancy Newcastle to break the trend here and they will certainly be the favourites after their amazing 6-2 battering of Norwich.

Star Man – Georginio Wijnaldum

I’ve said It before and I’ll say it again. This man is star quality. He has finally earned recognition, after scoring no less than 4 goals last weekend! The midfielder has also helped Mitrovic become a favourite of the Geordies. He’s cheap as chips at 6.9m and with a round score of 25, many will be eager to add him to their teams.

Prediction – Sunderland 1-3 Newcastle

BOUTOT

Bournemouth vs Tottenham

This may be the least important match out of our 4 Super Sunday fixtures, but I think this could be one of the most competitive games of the weekend. Tottenham look the most likely to take away 3 points, but there’s something about Eddie Howe and his team that says they could pull a draw or even a win this Sunday. Neither have been particularly brilliant recently, but this is a chance for both teams to become noticeable once again.

Star Man – Christian Eriksen

It’s no doubt that Eriksen is one of the best midfielders in the league. Tottenham may lack in several positions, but this man certainly makes up for a lot of that.

Prediction – Bournemouth 0-0 Tottenham

MUNMCI

Manchester United vs Manchester City

This is the closest Manchester derby to date. Both teams scoring for fun and likewise have reasonably solid defence’s. An injury plagued Manchester City are relying on some of their bench players, but were still able to pull off another annihilation in a 5-1 win over Bournemouth last weekend. Without their key players such as Aguero and Silva, this week their injury problems may show as they come up against Manchester United. The Reds jumped back from their defeat to Arsenal, by cruising past Everton. This match could go either way. It will be a tight match between the teams.

Star Man – Ander Herrera and Kevin De Bruyne

The Spanish midfielder is one of United’s best playmakers, but often does not receive enough credit for this. Even without their best players, City provide one of the best attacking threats in the league, but Herrera should be able to keep stability in the middle of the pitch. As for De Bruyne, he could be the game charger in this match, with his deadly finishing and ability to create a goal too!

Prediction – Manchester United 2-2 Manchester City

LIVSOU

Liverpool vs Southampton

This weekend the new German manager will be hoping for his first Premier League win. Southampton however are one of the worst choices that Liverpool could’ve come up against. They are covered in every position; Pelle, Mane, Tadic and Van Dijk to name a few. Liverpool will need to start the match well in order to take 3 points.

Star Man – Daniel Sturridge

Liverpool’s hopes with be resting on this man. Many brought the striker into their fantasy teams after a good first week back from injury. However, after missing a match last week, owners will not be happy if they don’t witness Sturridge doing his trademark celebration this week.

Prediction – Liverpool 1-1 Southampton
