Gameweek 28 Preview – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 27 brought just the eight games because of the eagerly awaited Capital One Cup final which saw Manchester City victorious after penalties at Wembley. It also saw Leicester continue their surge to the title albeit with a scruffy 1-0 win against Norwich. Gameweek 28 is another set of midweek games with a full fixture list ahead. At the bottom of the article there is a preview podcast, but without further ado, here is our gameweek preview:

AVLEVE

Aston Villa vs Everton

Everton have recently got a new big investment, so will want to be showing those investors what they have brought into! The new buyers will have big ambitions and the players will want to live up to these! Villa on the other hand will be looking for anything out of this game as they are currently lurking 8 points from safety.

Star Man – Romelu Lukaku (8.7m)

The Belgian has been great this season and will cause many problems for Aston Villa.

Prediction – Aston Villa 0-2 Everton

BOUSOU

Bournemouth vs Southampton

After a somewhat slow start, Bournemouth are not too far off securing themselves a second season in the Premier League, which will be a brilliant achievement for Eddie Howe and his men. They will be looking to cause an upset this week as they host the Saints, who are a currently sitting just outside those European places. With a solid squad, Southampton should be able to have a good push for a place in Europe over the final part of the season.

Star Man – Shane Long (5.7m)

The Irishman scored against Chelsea last weekend and always poses a threat to defences.

Prediction – Bournemouth 1-2 Southampton

LEIWBA

Leicester City vs West Brom

So, Leicester City are top with just 11 games left! Who would have thought of that?! Last week Arsenal dropped points, but Spurs managed to keep pace as they sit just 2 points behind. Leicester face West Brom which on paper seems a certain win, but with the Baggies sitting around the relegation zone, it may be a bit tougher than it would have been earlier on in the season as they will be pushing for a vital result themselves.

Star Man – Leonardo Ulloa (5.2m)

The Argentine’s goal winning game against Norwich may be enough to earn him a start.

Prediction – Leicester 2-0 West Brom

NORCHE

Norwich vs Chelsea

Norwich have been quite poor of late, and its not clear where they will get any points that will give them any chance of staying up. They did make it tough for Leicester last week, but once again they come away with nothing! Chelsea on the other hand have been brilliant since the departure of Mourinho and are now just outside the top half of the table, so will want to continue this form and surge up the table.

Star Man – Diego Costa (10.7m)

The Spaniard will bully Norwich’s poor defence who have kept minimal clean sheets this season.

Prediction – Norwich 0-3 Chelsea

SUNCRY

Sunderland vs Crystal Palace

Sunderland under Sam Allardyce have performed somewhat better and have crucially begun to pick up points, which could lead them to safety this season. This week they face an out of form Crystal Palace team who will be desperate to pick up points in this fixture, maybe this week they will turn it around.

Star Man – Connor Wickham (5.5m)

He scored twice away at West Brom and is against his former club.

Prediction – Sunderland 0-1 Crystal Palace

ARSSWA

Arsenal vs Swansea

Arsenal will want to get back on the title chase after an embarrassing defeat to Manchester United’s youth team! A game against Swansea will probably be as good as it gets to get back on track as they are currently in some poor form and are struggling a little to pick up some points.

Star Man – Mesut Ozil (9.9m)

The German continues to rack up assists and goals this season and doesn’t look like stopping.

Prediction – Arsenal 2-1 Swansea

STKNEW

Stoke vs Newcastle

This fixture could be a tight one as both teams will be looking for the win. Stoke will want to push on for a top half finish, whilst Newcastle will be looking to grab the three points that will see them come out of the relegation zone. If they do win, they would also have a game in hand over their relegation battle opponents!

Star Man – Marko Arnautovic (6.3m)

The Austrian scored twice against Aston Villa and causes many problems with his power and pace.

Prediction – Stoke 2-1 Newcastle

WHUTOT

West Ham vs Tottenham

The first of 2 London derbies this week featuring Spurs, as they also play Arsenal at the weekend. West Ham and co are in good form coming into this, as they currently sit one place away from the Europa league place, which Manchester United currently are in. Tottenham on the other hand are sitting two points from top, so will not want to lose any points here.

Star Man – Michail Antonio (5.3m)

Antonio has bagged himself 3 in his last 4 appearances for the Hammers.

Prediction – West Ham 1-1 Tottenham

LIVMCI

Liverpool vs Manchester City

A repeat of the Capital One Cup final, where Manchester City came out victorious on penalties. Liverpool will want to get revenge over the City team who beat them at the death. City on the other hand will be looking to beat them twice within a few days, however will they have a cup hangover?

Star Man – Phillipe Coutinho (8.0m)

Scored in the Capital One Cup final and now Liverpool will have home advantage.

Prediction – Manchester City 0-2 Liverpool

MUNWAT

Manchester United vs Watford

If Manchester United play their youth team they will probably win this! Currently they nearly have a full starting XI and bench that are out injured, but this hasn’t stopped the likes of Rashford, Lingard and Varela try and stake a place in the starting XI. Watford may struggle against the youth of United who are playing with no fear, however they do have the likes of Ighalo and Deeney who will always be looking to find the back of the net!

Star Man- Marcus Rashford (4.5m)

Has burst onto the scene after scoring 4 goals in 2 games for Manchester United.

Prediction – Manchester United 2-1 Watford
