Gameweek 31 Review – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 31 is over in a flash and once again we see the dreaded international break come back to haunt us. No Fantasy Premier League fixtures for 2 weeks and as we all hope that our FPL teams don’t come back with injuries, Leicester City still sit top and we can also start planning for the upcoming double gameweeks. Without futher ado, here is our FPL gameweek 31 review:

Dreamteam

Goalkeeper

David De Gea – One of the world’s best goalkeepers and undoubtedly the best goalkeeper in the Premier League. De Gea has single handedly won United points on a number of occasions and he is most likely the reason why they still have a chance at finishing in the top 4 this season. A clean sheet in the Manchester derby and 3 saves meant that he earned a spot in the dream team with 7 points.

Defenders

Federico Fernandez – Swansea are now all but safe from relegation, as they have managed to pick up 3 wins in their last 4 games. Some of this recent success has been down to the defensive wall, however this week, Fernandez also managed to chip in with a goal to add to his clean sheet.

Hector Bellerin – 12 points was enough for the Arsenal defender to see him secure a spot in this week’s dream team as he managed to keep a clean sheet, provide the assist to Iwobi’s first Arsenal goal and also pick up all 3 bonus points!

Kyle Walker – The England defender has been somewhat inconsistent this year, but it is clear that he offers great attacking potential as he streams down the wing and consistently puts balls into the box to create chances. This week, one of these chances was put away by Mr Harry Kane, who we will come onto later. The assist, coupled with a clean sheet and bonus points saw 3.4% of FPL managers earn an 11 point return.

Timm Klose – Last week Klose kept Sergio Aguero in his pocket, and this week it was Rondon. A slight difference in quality, however it was still the same outcome as he secured a second appearance in the Fantasy Premier League dream team in the space of 2 weeks, with another clean sheet!

Midfielders

Cesc Fabregas – Owned by just 4.5% of Fantasy Premier League managers, Fabregas has gone under the radar of late. However, this week he re-paid those that kept faith in him or took the gamble and brought him in this week. 2 goals for the Spaniard, as Chelsea drew 2-2 with a high flying West Ham team, meant the tie could have really gone either way.

Jonathan Walters – An even bigger differential than Fabregas makes it into the dream team as Walters, who is owned by just 0.7% of fantasy Premier League managers, leaves a mark on his fixture against Watford. However, at 5.6m, 0.7% ownership may be quite high as the midfielder has only picked up a double digit tally on one other occasion.

Robbie Brady – A second Norwich player in the dream team! This certainly isn’t something you see every week, but Brady scored a vital goal in Norwich’s win over West Brom which saw them leap out of the relegation zone. A goal, along with bonus points earned the Canaries man a spot in the middle 4.

Sadio Mane – Its not often that someone can miss a penalty and still make it into the Fantasy Premier League dream team, however this is what Mane has managed this week. Sitting at 0-2 down, Mane stepped up to try and change the tie by scoring a penalty, however he missed and they would have to do it the hard way. 2 goals later and 2 bonus points see’s the Saints midfielder on 11 points!

Strikers

Harry Kane – Many people thought the Englishman was a one season wonder… how he has proved them wrong! Another 20 goal season, and he currently is the top scoring player in the league. 2 goals and an assist this week saw the striker score a huge 16 points, securing him not only a spot in the dream team, but also as the highest scoring player this week! Well done those who captained him!

Graziano Pelle – With Mane missing a penalty and Southampton finding themselves 0-2 down, it looked like it wasn’t to be their day. However, Pelle picked up a goal and set up Mane twice to complete the come back and win the game 3-2! 15 points for the Italian as his efforts earned himself and 7.5% of fantasy managers 3 bonus points too!
