Gameweek 32 Review – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Leicester City sit seven points clear at the top of the Premier League with only six more games to play. They’re going to do it folks, they’re actually going to be champions! It’s not just about Leicester City’s triumphs where the Fantasy Premier League is concerned though. Gameweek 32 was a strong week, with no player in the dreamteam scoring less than double points. Pedro, the Chelsea winger, was the star of the week, scoring 16 points. But who else made this week’s FPL dreamteam? Without further ado, here is the gameweek 32 review:

Dreamteam

Goalkeeper

Ben Foster – He may be disappointed to have missed out on the latest England squad, but Ben didn’t let that stop him from putting in a fine display against Sunderland. Two bonus points and two extra save points gave him a total of 10 for the week.

Defenders

Wes Morgan – What a story it’s been for the 32-year old Leicester City captain this season. The strong centre back was emphatic again, scoring the winner for his side against Southampton and putting in a Man of the Match display in the process. He finishes the week with 15 points.

Hector Bellerin – The Arsenal defender has arguably been the best right back in the league this season. He continued his fine form, scoring the third goal against Watford as Arsenal won 4-0, giving Bellerin 14 points in the process.

César Azpilicueta – The versatile full back has been one of the only positives in what has been a season to forget for Chelsea. Azpiliqueta got an assist in Chelsea’s 4-0 win away to Aston Villa, giving him a total of 11 points for the week.

Christian Fuchs – The Austrian full back put in another solid display as Leicester beat Southampton 1-0 to go seven points clear at the top of the table. An assist for Fuchs brings his points total to 10 for the week.

Midfielders

Pedro – The speedy winger is this week’s highest scorer with 16 points thanks to his brace against Aston Villa. Despite playing for one of the poorest Chelsea sides in years, Pedro has still managed 98 points this season. Not bad for someone playing their first season in England.

Alexis Sanchez – The Arsenal attacker scored his first goal Premier League at the Emirates since October, as he reacted quickly to Heurelho Gomes save from his initial header. Sanchez has looked a lot closer to his best recently and caps Gameweek 32 off with 14 points.

Jonny Howson – That’s 10 points this week for Howson as he created two goals in Norwich’s 3-2 victory against Newcastle in what was a relegation six-pointer.

Manuel Lanzini – It’s usually Dimitri Payet picking up the plaudits (and the points) for West Ham. Despite his amazing freekick, it’s Lanzini who gets the FPL plaudits this week. One goal and three bonus points gives him a total of 10 for the week.

Strikers

Aleksandar Mitrovic – Newcastle are in trouble! A 3-2 defeat away to Norwich means they are now six points away from safety, although they do have a game in hand, but with only six games left it’s looking pretty ominous. Mitrovic was one of the few bright points for Newcastle: the striker scored two, giving him a total of 12 points for the week.

Alexandre Pato – We weren’t even sure if he existed, as despite signing for Chelsea on loan in the January window, Pato was yet to play a single minute. Finally given his debut again Aston Villa, you have to wonder why it took so long. A goal, assist and some neat link up play rounded off a good day for Pato, who scored 10 points.

So that’s your team; a 4-4-2, which seems to be coming back into fashion thanks to Leicester’s heroics this season. Surely they’ll hold on now for what will be one of the greatest achievements in modern-day football.

As for your FPL team, how did you do? And what impact do this week’s results have on your team selection for Gameweek 33?
