Gameweek 6 Review – Fantasy Premier League Tips

With the return of Sturridge and Martial making headlines after an impressive first performance for United, managers came into the week baffled as to who should firstly be in their team but more importantly who should have the responsibility of captaincy! After an exciting Champions League week which saw 75% of the English representatives beaten by European sides, there was a lot of focus put on the upcoming Fantasy Premier League fixtures and the importance of growing confidence and putting the league standings back to what they should look like. So lets see how gameweek 6 went and where all the high scoring players found their points this week in the FPL dreamteam!

Dreamteam

Goalkeeper

Butland – They always say start your attack from the back but they didn’t mean that far back! This week we have quite a surprising stat as the keeper managed to grab an assist as well as keeping the score line to only 2 as Leicester looked set to make a comeback for the 2nd week in a row. Bonus points only aided his dream team shout as he tallied 7 points for the weekend. Despite his performances he has yet to keep a clean sheet this season!

Defenders

Zouma – The star man this week goes to the Chelsea defender who tallies his first clean sheet of the season after a controversial game against Arsenal which saw 9 man Arsenal fall 2-0 behind after some questionable decisions from the referee. A goal and a clean sheet saw him accumulate 10 points and a few bonus points saw him rise to the top scorer this week for the first time in his career!

Martin – A shock result saw struggling Liverpool draw against Norwich, where Martin equalised and then kept his team calm in the closing parts of the game to ensure the newly promoted side took at least something from Anfield. Norwich still have zero clean sheets but the defender has managed to grab himself 3 goals already this season! Maybe he could consider a position change if this trend continues!

Daniels – After not playing last week, he had a lot to prove so a man of the match performance and a clean sheet against Sunderland (which at this stage is expected for every team) gave the defender 9 points for the gameweek as he looks to grow his tally. This is the first clean sheet of the season for them and they find themselves 13th at the end of the gameweek.

Fernandez – Finally, in defence we have the Swansea defender who kept a clean sheet and gained himself 3 bonus points as the Welsh side continue their successful start to the season after a rough set of fixtures! It was over a month before Swansea could record their second clean sheet of the season and it was a vital one as Everton had all the momentum after destroying Chelsea last week!

Midfielders

Mahrez – No surprise this week as the regular has had the best start to the season possible and will be looking to continue this after another goal and assist this week! Already on 58 points with 5 dream team positions, accompanied by his 5 goals and 3 assists, he leads the pack with the most assists and will be a contender for player of the season if he continues this trend as Leicester seem to be the perfect place for the young player to rise to his potential.

De Bruyne – City’s huge 60m signing features in the dream team after a disappointing result in mid week, meaning this game was much more important. City conceded their first goals and loss of the season but KDB bagged his side a consolation goal.

Hazard – After Mourinho said he was better than Ronaldo, football was slow for the Belgian but this week he returns to a spot which he dominated for most of last season! A goal saw out a 2-0 victory over London rivals Arsenal and more importantly opened up his tally for the season after 6 games. A slow start which he will definitely be looking to change. Not quite Ronaldo yet!

Forwards

Ighalo – First up, we have a repeat of last week with the Watford forward making a name for himself as he nets 3 times in the last 2 games after a slow start to the season. His first year in the Premier League will be classed as a success if he keeps up this goal scoring record and fighting the relegation battle seemingly single handedly. Due to Ighalo, Watford find themselves sitting 10th after 6 games.

Pelle – The Southampton forward finds himself in the dream team after 2 goals, doubling his season tally to 4 as he looks to build on his 12 goals from last season. The next few weeks will be challenging for him though as they face the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea.

Martial – Finally we have the 19 year old who has the BPL gripped after 2 strong performances! Many 19 year olds are sat in bed watching Netflix however this Frenchman is banging in 2 goals in only his 2nd game.

So that’s how the week went! How did you do? Let us know @FPL_Updates
