Whilst checking the fantasy Premier League scores throughout the weekend, I didn’t expect to be stabbed in the back by the return of the dreaded green FPL arrows! I scored 3 points less than the average but when your languishing in the bottom 4%, even a tragic score like that can be detrimental to your global rank. I fell 7k from 3,409,585 yet still proud of my lads to be in the 3.4m arena going into gameweek 24.
With a 10 day rest now I have given all my squad a well-earned trip to Butlins to play in the ball pool and swing on the tyres.
Let’s re-cap gameweek 23 before moving onto my team selection for the midweek ramble in gameweek 24.
Goalkeeper
Bunn – “The Baker” served up a clean sheet in the Brummie Derby to come home with 6 points on his debut. We will let him off this time…
Defenders
Huth – Yet again the square headed German is up to no good again, keeping Stoke City’s attack at bay.
Coloccini – A point from “Curly” meant that my slow rise to the top was halted, 1 point.
Cook – 2 points from the Bournemouth man due to an ex S**thouser (PvA) scoring 3 in a row!
Bassong – Conceded 5 goals! That’s the way to do it right? Yes, but then don’t go and score at the other end! 6 points.
Midfielders
Cattermole – The midfielders are my trusted source of low points so it was business as usual for Lee, picking up 2.
Yacob – 1 point more than his colleagues, Claudio kept a clean sheet bonus meaning 3 points was his prize.
Lucas – In a game with 9 goals, the Liverpool midfielder picked up nothing, which is the very reason why he’s here.
Strikers
Rooney – I called it, Rooney’s little run of points came to a predictable end as he couldn’t edge past the Saints.
Captain Jerome – Jerome assisted in the 4 vs 5 thriller at Carrow Road but managed no bonus points, thankfully. Our highest scorer with 8 points.
Okazaki – Played a minute more than the hour mark and as a result earned 2 points for the S**thouse XI.
Going to hold transfers this week and use 2 next gameweek as I am quite happy with my team for now. I will, as previously stated though, never waste a transfer or take a hit in my quest to rock bottom.
Captain – This week it goes to the legend of the S**thouse XI, Lee Cattermole.
Good luck everyone and make sure you save those red arrows for me.
