Things’ Top Trump – Gameweek 3 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

This is the second article of Things’ FPL Top Trump. I think we can put gameweek 1’s version down as a success, with Dimitri Payet picking up an impressive 9 points. But onto this week; and I have gone for the Spanish playmaker Juan Mata.

Juan Mata had a sublime game in the Friday Night fixture at Villa Park, showing his flair and assisting the match winning goal, meaning an impressive 9 points in Fantasy Football terms. It was interesting to see in the game at Villa Park, Juan playing in more of the number 10 role, which as a Chelsea fan I know just how deadly he can perform there – e.g. 2012/13: scoring 11 goals and bagging 18 assists.

Onto the teams. Manchester United have won both their games 1-0, only having 3 shots on target in that time frame. You may ask yourself, why should I go for Mata then? Well the answer is, Newcastle! In their first two games, their defence has looked very edgy conceding 4 goals, with another positive being that their key player/defender Janmaat will miss the trip to Old Trafford due to suspension.

Adding to this, Manchester United’s form against Newcastle is very impressive. In their last 7 meetings vs Newcastle they have won 6 and lost 1. In these 7 games Manchester United have managed to score 17 times. To tempt you even further, on the 4th of April 2014, Juan Mata netted twice against the Geordies in an ace performance.

Concluding this article, I’d be confident with this little Spaniard in my team and if he starts in that number 10 role? Well, we could be seeing double figures.
