Captaincy Analysis – FPL Gameweek 30 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

The international break is now over and we can now start to think about our fantasy football teams once again, and with that comes our gameweek captaincy analysis.

Before we look at this week’s captaincy selections, here’s how last week’s picks did:

1. Romelu Lukaku – 16 points
2. Alexis Sanchez – 9 points
3. Eden Hazard – 0 points
Differential – Josh King – 8 points
Gamble – Sergio Aguero – 6 points

Now onto this week’s picks:

1. Dele Alli (BUR)

Dele has been in fantastic form recently, scoring 3 goals and assisting once in 3 games. An away game to Burnley is likely to see Alli getting on the scoresheet, especially considering how good Spurs have been recently! With hard fixtures this week in the Premier League, Alli’s is definitely the most favourable! Owned by 28%, he’ll be a very popular choice for captaincy, so I’d recommend Alli for those who wish to maintain their rank, especially with DGW’s around the corner!

2. Sergio Aguero (ARS)

One assist and two goals in two games, one of them goals against Liverpool, Aguero is starting to get into that from that we are so used to seeing of him in previous FPL seasons. An away game to Arsenal would be hard years ago, however Arsenal’s form has been horrific in recent weeks and as City have been brilliant in the last few games, I wouldn’t be surprised if Aguero gets one this week. He has the chance of getting even more than the one based on Arsenal’s form, so let’s see how he’s feeling on the day!

3. Gylfi Sigurdsson (MID)

Last week was the first blank for Siggy in 8 weeks, an incredible record for the Icelandic midfielder, but he’ll be looking to bounce back from that blank and what better team to play than Middlesbrough, a team that hasn’t won a game in 2017! With Swansea desperate to stay up this season, Swansea will need their star man to perform in every game from now until the end of the season, and with him being involved in 45% of Swansea goals this season, he’s definitely one to consider for captaincy this week! Swansea have their striker back now (Llorente) so Siggy will surely have more of a chance to grab an assist or two this weekend!

Differential – Jamie Vardy (STK)

This time last year, Vardy was literally the exact opposite of a differential, however, this season is a different story. With 3 goals and an assist in 3 games, and only owned by 2% of live teams, he’s a fantastic choice for a captain if you want to go down the differential route this week. Leicester play Stoke at home this week, and Leicester have been brilliant at home in their last two fixtures, beating Liverpool 3-1 in one of those games.

Gamble – Romelu Lukaku (LIV)

Lukaku, the gamble? Well despite Lukaku’s fantastic form in the last few weeks, 9 goals and 2 assists in 6 (!) games, you’d think he would be a good choice for captaincy, however an away game to Liverpool has proven in recent years to be difficult for Everton. The last away win in the Merseyside Derby was 18 years ago, and no matter how good Everton are in that time, they always get taken apart by their rivals. As an Everton fan, I have no faith in Everton winning, although I am confident that Lukaku will score. Definitely a gamble but if Everton do pull it off, you can be sure that Lukaku will have a big part to play in their win.
