FPL Gameweek 21 Preview – Fantasy Premier League Tips

More than half of the season is over & the 21st gameweek of the season dawns upon us. This weekend offers an exciting range of Premier League fixtures, of which could bring some huge fantasy football points! So here we are yet again, giving you an insight on how each fixture could pan out & singling out a few players that could give you a much needed boost in rank.

So good luck and may your arrows be green. Here’s our FPL Gameweek 21 Preview:

Tottenham vs West Brom

The Baggies have been playing great football this season and as a result, they are comfortably placed 8th on the league table. Spurs on the other hand yet again have the Champions League in mind and are doing all that is needed for automatic qualification, having seemingly comfortably played out an important win over leaders Chelsea recently. This fixture promises lots of action but do keep in mind that the Baggies get even tighter at the back when up against the big guns of the league.

STAR MAN: Ben Foster (4.7m)

Cometh the hour, cometh the man! The Baggies shot stopper is bound to have a busy day between the sticks.

PREDICTION: Tottenham 0-1 West Brom

Burnley vs Southampton

3 Premier League losses on the trot, that is definitely not the Saints side we are used to seeing in recent years and this week they travel north to the home of the Clarets. With the Saints having drawn just 4 points from the last 5 fixtures and just the 1 point separating both the sides, this could turn out to be a very interesting crunch match, but with the pace the Saints have up front, they seem like they’ll be edging this tie.

STAR MAN: Nathan Redmond (5.8m)

The Englishman may not be in the best of form lately, but he definitely needs to step up to get his side out of this rut. His goal midweek will boost his confidence too!

PREDICTION: Burnley 1-2 Southampton

Hull vs Bournemouth

The Tigers are simply awful this season and as a result they sit rock bottom of the league table. The Cherries on the other hand are slowly and steadily climbing up the table having almost got the better of Arsenal last time out. The Tigers currently seem to be getting nothing right on the field & an away win seems to be on the cards.

STAR MAN: Charlie Daniels (5.2m)

A goal and 2 assists in the last 2 fixtures, he is well worth considering against a shambolic Hull side.

PREDICTION: Hull 1-3 Bournemouth

Sunderland vs Stoke

The Black Cats have shown some signs of improvement lately, most notably in their game against Liverpool, and this weekend welcome the Potters who have recently succumbed to Wolves in the FA Cup. Sunderland with the home advantage do seem to have the upper hand. This game might prove to be fairly open with both teams getting their fair share of chances.

STAR MAN: Jermain Defoe (7.8m)

The pacey Sunderland frontman is definitely on form & looks to be all set to haunt the Potters’ defensive line.

PREDICTION: Sunderland 2-0 Stoke

Swansea vs Arsenal

Arsenal have yet again collapsed by giving another dismal performance, despite an impressive comeback last time out at the Vitality Stadium, and this has resulted in them slipping to fifth place, eight points behind the league leaders. What more incentive do the Gunners need to absolutely hammer the out of sorts Swans defence and get the much needed three points to reinstate their claim in the race for the title?

STAR MAN: Olivier Giroud (8.6m)

The Frenchman is in red hot form with a mere 4.7% ownership. He seems to be the perfect differential in the upcoming weeks.

PREDICTION: Swansea 0-3 Arsenal

Watford vs Middlesbrough

Both the sides are struggling and are in a desperate need of a victory just to keep themselves away from the relegation scrap that is getting tighter day by day. Watford have the home advantage and will be boosted by the stat that Boro have managed the least attempts on target this season, so Karanka’s men will have to come up with something completely different if they are to take home any points from this fixture.

STAR MAN: Marten de Roon (4.4m)

Having scored in the FA Cup, he will be looking to deliver something in the league too.

PREDICTION: Watford 0-1 Middlesbrough

West Ham vs Crystal Palace

Both these teams have been struggling in recent weeks, having lost their last 2 games. Although you might say that the Hammers have the upper hand in this game considering their attacking threat and the Eagles’ frailties in defence, you just can’t predict as to what we can expect from Big Sam’s Palace side. Placed just a point above the drop zone, this is a crucial game for them.

STAR MAN: Andros Townsend (5.9m)

With Zaha off to AFCON, the Englishman will look at this as an opportunity to step up and grab a goal or two.

PREDICTION: West Ham 1-1 Crystal Palace

Leicester vs Chelsea

The long unbeaten Chelsea run is finally over, as Conte’s men succumbed to Spurs last time out, and they will surely be determined to immediately bounce back in the best of fashion. An easy Chelsea win seems to be on the cards.

STAR MAN: Diego Costa (10.7m)

The Spaniard is the league’s top goal scorer and will be looking to single handedly get his side the 3 points.

PREDICTION: Leicester City 0-3 Chelsea

Everton vs Manchester City

This is one of the few exciting games of the weekend with 2 extremely attack minded sides going head to head. Both sides will look to push for another step forward to achieve their league targets, but with Pep still struggling with finding his feet in England, the Toffees might be in one of the best positions to capitalise.

STAR MAN: Romelu Lukaku (9.5m)

2 goals and an assist in the last 3 games, he seems to be poised to take on a makeshift City defence.

PREDICTION: Everton 2-1 Manchester City

Manchester United vs Liverpool

This is undoubtedly the game to watch out for this week, with 2 of the fiercest Premier League rivals going head to head. Klopp’s side have faltered in the past week in the league and both cups and will be looking to get straight back to winning ways, while United on the other hand are on a 6 game winning streak & a win against the Merseysiders will throw Jose’s men straight back into the title race. Expect it to be a cagey but heated affair.

STAR MAN: Zlatan Ibrahimovic (11.6m)

The Big Swede has given point returns in each of the last 5 games & his strength and technical ability will be something that will haunt the Liverpool defence.

PREDICTION: Manchester United 3-1 Liverpool
