FPL Gameweek 29 Preview – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 28 was full of highs for some and lows for others, as 8 teams playing showed the difference between who had planned for the week and who hadn’t. Now it’s time to get over the joys & sorrows of the gameweek gone by & concentrate on the upcoming gameweek, which promises to be an enthralling one as well & has some interesting fixtures both at the top and bottom of the table.

West Brom vs Arsenal

Both the Baggies & the Gunners were victims of disappointing defeats last time out & both these sides will be looking to bounce back immediately. Arsenal on one hand have all the firepower needed to ease home but never rule out the Baggies against the top 6 sides, who we can’t forget delivered a strong performance in the reverse fixture away at the Emirates.

STAR MAN: Alexis Sanchez (11.5m)

The Chilean has delivered in 6 of the last 7 away games he has featured in & could yet again be amongst the points this weekend.

PREDICTION: West Brom 1-2 Arsenal

Crystal Palace vs Watford

Watford are placed 13th in the table currently and are 7 points clear from the drop, but with recent results not going their way, they will be looking to reach that 40 point mark as soon as possible. Palace on the other hand have won each of their last 2 fixtures & will be looking to build on that. With the home crowd & form on Palace’s side, it seems it’ll be going their way.

STAR MAN: Yohan Cabaye (5.6m)

With 2 assists from their last 2 games, he could be well worth a cheeky punt.

PREDICTION: Crystal Palace 2-0 Watford

Everton vs Hull

Everton came back strong last weekend after a disappointing trip to White Hart Lane. The Tigers were also victorious last weekend showing the hunger and desire to stay up, but with the firepower the Toffees possess, this seems to be going only one way.

STAR MAN: Romelu Lukaku (10.3m)

The Big Belgian has delivered in each of the last 5 games at Goodison & with the form he possesses, he might yet again be on the scoresheet.

PREDICTION: Everton 3-0 Hull

Stoke vs Chelsea

The Blues are 10 points clear at the top of the league table & there seems to be no one stopping them with the form they are in, but an away trip to Stoke is always a major challenge. Could Stoke be the ones to finally halt Chelsea’s run?

STAR MAN: Lee Grant (4.4m)

With clean sheets in 3 of the last 4 games, the shot stopper between the sticks could have a busy day.

PREDICTION: Stoke City 1-1 Chelsea

Sunderland vs Burnley

Both the Black Cats & the Clarets are on a miserable run of form with both sides winless in each of the last 3 games. Sunderland are placed rock bottom of the league table and if they are to have any chance of survival, this is the game to turn things around.

STAR MAN: Jermain Defoe (7.7m)

If the Black Cats are to stay up, this man has to deliver.

PREDICTION: Sunderland 2-1 Burnley

West Ham vs Leicester

The Foxes have been playing some amazing football since the departure of Claudio Ranieri, not only just winning their last 2 games but also in a very convincing manner too, while the Hammers on the other hand are winless in their last 4 games. This is a game they will be fancying their chances in, especially if they want to have any chance of a top half finish.

STAR MAN: Andre Ayew (7.1m)

The Ghanaian international has delivered 2 goals & an assist in his last 3 appearances from the bench & seems to be set to start for the Hammers.

PREDICTION: West Ham 2-2 Leicester

Bournemouth vs Swansea

The Swans have had a large amount of ups & downs this season and sit just 3 points away from the drop zone, having lost out to Hull last time out. The Cherries on the other hand have finally got a win after a winless streak of 8 games & they will definitely be looking to take this momentum into the next game and grab another win in front of the home fans.

STAR MAN: Joshua King (5.6m)

The Norwegian has now scored 5 in the last 3 league games & a leaky Swans defence shouldn’t be a problem for the man in form.

PREDICTION: Bournemouth 3-1 Swansea

Middlesbrough vs Manchester United

Boro are winless in the last 5 league games and this week welcome a Jose Mourinho side that is on the back of a disappointing FA Cup result against the league leaders. Man United are without their talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but with the squad depth the Red Devils possess, it should be an easy away win for Mourinho’s men.

STAR MAN: Juan Mata (7.2m)

United’s creator-in-chief will have to step up if the Red Devils are to overcome Karanka’s sturdy defence.

PREDICTION: Middlesbrough 1-3 Manchester United

Tottenham vs Southampton

Tottenham have been in great form but still find themselves ten points off the leaders Chelsea. Their home form this season has been fantastic, having not lost a single game at the Lane. Their opponents, the Saints, have had a poor season in comparison to their previous two seasons and will be looking to finish the league inside the top 10 at least. Both teams will be looking to get the three points and this might just prove to be an exciting game with both sides having their fair share of chances.

STAR MAN: Heung Min Son (6.8m)

The South Korean is bound to start out of position in the absence of their main man Harry Kane, and could prove to be the differential that gives your team the end of season boost in rank.

PREDICTION: Tottenham 3-2 Southampton

Manchester City vs Liverpool

The best is saved for last as the Reds travel to the Etihad in search of some much needed points. Although Liverpool’s form against the top 6 in the Premier League is pretty good, they have recently struggled on their travels. Beating the Citizens might be a tough job but Liverpool will surely prove to be a strong opposition. Both sides are placed neck and neck on the league table & this could just bring the best out of both of them.

STAR MAN: Raheem Sterling (7.8m)

The young Englishman has had a cracker of a season under the new boss & he could be the man who is deployed to break down his former side.

PREDICTION: Manchester City 1-1 Liverpool
