Captaincy Analysis – FPL Gameweek 34 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

A nightmare blank gameweek for some has come and gone and we’re now more or less back to a normal gameweek, with just Brighton and Cardiff playing twice. Before we consider this week’s options, here is how last week’s picks did:

1. Eden Hazard – 10 points
2.
Richarlison – 15 points
3. Harry Kane – 4 points
Differential –  Youri Tielemans – 3 points
Gamble – Mohamed Salah – 7 points

Now onto this week’s selections:

1. Heung-Min Son (HUD)

It was originally meant to be Harry Kane, but seeing him gobble down the touchline with his ankle in a brace on crutches has seriously messed up all of our wildcard plans! Surprisingly, Tottenham have a terrific record whenever Kane is missing from their starting lineup, with Son the player who usually scores in Kane’s absence, hence why I’ve decided to stay with a Spurs player for number one captaincy. They take on an already relegated Huddersfield who conceded 4 last week to Leicester too, so while Kane may be out for this game, I’d definitely recommend Son!

2. Jamie Vardy (NEW)

Since Brendan Rodgers took over Leicester, the whole team has performed much better than they were for Puel, in particularly Jamie Vardy, scoring 7 goals in 6 games. This week, they take on a Newcastle side with no clean sheets in their last 5, and with Vardy in such terrific form, he’s definitely one to keep an eye on. He scored and assists din the reverse fixture too, and he may sneak under the radar for captaincy with all the big players back!

3. Raul Jimenez (SOU)

He’s just recently signed a deal with Wolves for £30m, and you can’t exactly blame Wolves for spending the big bucks for the Mexican striker, especially considering how good he’s been recently. He’s scored 12 goals and assisted 10 times this season, one of the highest goal contributions in the league, not counting the goal he scored in the Cup! They take on Southampton this week, and with 4 teams looking to get 7th, Wolves will need to win every game with Leicester and Everton in terrific form!

Differential – Lucas Digne (FUL)

Don’t read away, I’m being serious. He’s a bonus points magnet and is one of the best full backs on the world, again, I’m being serious. They take on Fulham this week who have won once in 14 games, and has made the most touches for Everton in every one of their last 11 games. He’s also on set piece duty, what more do you need! Everton have been in really good form recently, and he’s a terrific differential at such a late stage in FPL.

Gamble – Mohamed Salah (CHE)

You’d honestly believe that Salah had scored once all season! Admittedly, he has been in really poor form, scoring only once in the last 8 games, but maybe that goal might have been enough to rekindle the form that he was in last season. They take on Chelsea this week in a must win game for the title race and will need Salah to be on top form against his former club. Chelsea haven’t exactly been in convincing form too, so maybe captaining Salah might not be such a gamble…
