Fantasy Football Potential – Jonny Castro Otto

Jonny Castro Otto has joined Wolves from Atletico Madrid on a season long loan. The Spaniard has just signed a permanent 6 year deal with Atletico Madrid from Celta Vigo, but has gone straight out on loan to Wolves.

Jonny has played at full back 34 times for the Spanish youth levels, winning the Euro u19’s tournament, but he is yet to make his senior debut internationally. That said, he joins Wolves as their seventh new signing of the transfer window as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2018/19 Premier League season.

Here’s what Jonny has had to say about his move to Wolves:

“I’m very happy to be here! I want to enjoy a great year and help the team. I want us to have a great time this season; hopefully it will be a good one.”

Fantasy Premier League Potential (4.5m)

Jonny had made 183 league appearances in La Liga for Celta Vigo, even helping them to the Europa League semi-finals in 2017 where they were knocked out by Manchester United. Last season Jonny played on 36 occasions, scoring 2 and assisting another.

The 24 year old can play as left or right back but appears to have been brought in as cover for Barry Douglas who left Wolves for Leeds this summer. That said it is expected that Jonny will be part of the starting eleven in gameweek one, unless they make any other signings, and has already joined up with Wolves in preseason as he played 61 minutes in their 2-1 defeat for Derby. Jonny may not offer what Douglas could offensively, but should improve the squad defensively and this is where he would pick up the majority of his FPL points.

Wolves’ first five fixtures are as follows; Everton (H), Leicester (A), Man City (H), West Ham (A) and Burnley (H). It’s not the hardest opening five, but also not the toughest. That said at 4.5m, Jonny could provide a good rotation option in your fantasy teams.
