Fantasy Football Potential – Kenedy

Newcastle have made their third summer signing with a loan deal for Chelsea midfielder Kenedy. The Brazilian spent a spell with the Magpies last season, playing 13 Premier League matches. The loan deal for Kenedy interestingly has a loan to buy clause in it.

Kenedy is yet to make an appearance for the Brazil national team but has played 22 times for the various youth teams. His most successful period was with their u17 team as he scored six times in just 13 games. His only Premier League goal for Chelsea came after just 39 seconds against Norwich in the 2015/16 campaign.

Here’s what Kenedy had to say about his move:

“I am so happy with this interest from Rafa Benítez, that he came back for me. I want to keep it going, the work that I did here before, for the new season. I have received many, many messages on social media from the fans. They made me feel appreciated, so I wanted to come here in this new season and give everything on the pitch.”

Fantasy Premier League Potential (5.0m)

Kenedy has been priced at £5.0m which has caught the eye of many Fantasy Premier League managers. The fifth midfielder spot in everybody’s team is crucial and people are always looking for a good bargain, and Kenedy could just be that player.

In his 13 games for Newcastle last season he scored twice and assisted twice, playing just over a thousand minutes in total. Both of his goals came in one game against Southampton in a convincing 3-0 victory at St James’ Park. There aren’t many better options at £5.0m than Kenedy and that shows with his 3.5% ownership.

Newcastle’s first five fixtures are as follows: Tottenham (H), Cardiff (A), Chelsea (H), Manchester City (A) and Arsenal (H). It’s a ridiculous start for Newcastle so you maybe would wait until these fixtures have passed until you bring him in.
