Fantasy Premier League Preview – Gameweek 14 – FPL Tips

Last week seemingly didn’t go to plan but with the busy Christmas period right around the corner, there is no time to mull over the sorrows of the past. So here we are, yet again, with another Gameweek Preview, analysing each and every fixture and cherry picking the man who is bound to be among points this gameweek.

So good luck and may your arrows be green!

Cardiff vs Wolves

Cardiff are in the bottom three despite their best efforts last weekend to thwart Everton. They have managed just two wins this season and they will have to change the tide as the games flow in. Wolves have not won a match in their last five fixtures. Wolves will have to get a result if they are to stay in reach of the top half of the table and Cardiff simply have to win to be able to sustain a fight to stay in the league.

STAR MAN: Ruben Neves (5.0m)

In a tight game like this, he might be the man for Wolves to find the breakthrough.

PREDICTION: Cardiff 1-1 Wolves

Crystal Palace vs Burnley

Both sides have been on poor runs of form lately, and it’s looking more and more like they’ll both find themselves in the thick of a relegation fight. As such, this is a bit of a six-pointer, and either Hodgson or Dyche could find the pressure ramping up on them with defeat here. This again is a crucial game for both teams.

STAR MAN: Wilfried Zaha (6.7m)

His drop in form has been critical to the Eagles recent performances and he will be hoping to make a difference on the field this time around.

PREDICTION: Crystal Palace 1-1 Burnley

Huddersfield vs Brighton

The Seagulls were on the verge of beating ten-man Leicester City at the weekend, but the two sides eventually played out a 1-1 draw as the Foxes scored a late equaliser from the penalty spot. Brighton aim to regain their spot in the top half of the table, but they should be happy with one point from the Leicester game. The Terriers, on the other hand, made a very slow start to the season, but the fact that they have collected four points from their last two home fixtures in the top flight is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of Brighton. Anyhow, the two teams seem to be evenly matched at the moment and a close encounter is on the horizon.

STAR MAN: Anthony Knockaert (5.5m)

He has been relatively quiet this season and will want to put in something for his team this time around at an away game.

PREDICTION: Huddersfield 0-1 Brighton

Leicester vs Watford

The Foxes showed character in the draw with the Seagulls as they were playing with ten men since the 28th minute of the match. Leicester City aim to return to winning ways in the Premier League and we predict that they are going to adopt an attack-minded approach in Saturday’s match against Watford. The Hornets, on the other hand, failed to upset ten-man Liverpool and seeing as they are not regarded as good travellers, we predict that the hosts are going to give fans something to cheer about this weekend. The Foxes produce much better displays at home than on their travels and we predict that they are going to prove their worth on the field.

STAR MAN: Jamie Vardy (8.9m)

He hasn’t quite lived up to his FPL price tag yet but his performance in the last game shows he could be on the up.

PREDICTION: Leicester 2-1 Watford

Manchester City vs Bournemouth

The Citizens are leading the chase for the Premier League, but seeing that Liverpool are breathing down their neck, this has to go down as yet another must-win game for the hosts. The Cherries, on the other hand, have been having their ups and downs this season, but given Man City’s thrilling form, we predict that the hosts are going to emerge triumphant in this fixture. Leroy Sane looks unstoppable at the moment and we are positive that the Germany international is going to prove a handful for the opposition defenders. You should know that Pep Guardiola’s men are eyeing their ninth consecutive win at home in the league.

STAR MAN: Sergio Aguero (11.3m)

The Argentine can do some serious damage to this Cherries defence if they are caught off guard.

PREDICTION: Manchester City 4-0 Bournemouth

Newcastle vs West Ham

The Toon have recently been on a roll with 3 wins from 3 which has seen them rise to 13th on the league table. The Hammers on the contrary have won just one in their last 6. On form, the result seems pretty evident.

STAR MAN: Matt Ritchie (5.8m)

He will be looking to put last week’s howler behind him and get straight back on the scoresheet.

PREDICTION: Newcastle 3-2 West Ham

Southampton vs Manchester United

The Red Devils come into this game on the back of a disappointing result against the Eagles and this week they’re up against a Southampton side who are winless in their last 9 league games. You couldn’t really ask for a better fixture to get back to winning ways.

STAR MAN: Anthony Martial (7.6m)

He has indeed been United’s creative spark of late.

PREDICTION: Southampton 1-2 Manchester United

Chelsea vs Fulham

The Blues come into this fixture on the back of a humiliating result in last week’s London derby against the Spurs. This week, Sarri and his boys will indeed be looking to bounce back against the side placed rock bottom of the league table.

STAR MAN: Eden Hazard (11.1m)

His runs behind defences will be something that could trouble the Cottagers.

PREDICTION: Chelsea 3-0 Fulham

Arsenal vs Tottenham

It’s derby week in North London as the Gunners and Spurs get set for a crunch clash at the Emirates. The pressure is indeed on Arsenal, who could fall 6 points behind their fierce rivals with a defeat this weekend, but with the home crowd behind them, they could really be in the mood for this one.

STAR MAN: Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang (10.9m)

He could single handedly fire the Gunners towards the 3 points.

PREDICTION: Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham

Liverpool vs Everton

Super Sunday ends with another feisty derby, this time on Merseyside. Honestly, on form, this should be a cakewalk for Klopp and his boys but with so many emotions attached to this fixture, it’s always a hard one to predict.

STAR MAN: Roberto Firmino (9.2m)

The Brazilian is always up for the big occasions.

PREDICTION: Liverpool 3-1 Everton
