Gameweek 17 Sky Tips – Fantasy Football Tips

The games are coming thick and fast and gameweek 18 is over already. Managers seem to be coming and going like gameweeks over Christmas, so new teams and players are becoming viable to pick, causing the template to shift. There’s a number of single and double match days to come over Christmas, so it’s important to have some sort of plan to tackle the festive period.

Goalkeepers

Guaita continues to pump out score and he’s now the second highest scoring keeper with his 3rd 11 pointer in a row. He’s also playing on MNF and owned by <1%. Gazzaniga £6.5m picked up his first clean sheet for Spurs but he’s still been 3 to 4 points when he hasn’t. Allison picked up his first clean sheet of the season which sounds mental.

Defenders

Baldock £6.3m scored and assisted against Norwich for a 15 pointer. While clean sheets have been drying up, he’s had 5 attacking returns this campaign. Teammate Stevens also scored in that game. Vertonghen £9.5m had a mammoth game with his first assist and tackle bonus of the season as well as his second CS. Evans hit back to back double digit scores with his first goal of the season and SoT bonus. The Leicester defence is a dream hold. VVD was back in the points with Liverpool’s first clean sheet in 9 games. Himself and Gomez made passing bonus. Fernandez scored his second of the season against Southampton and the Magpies have been in good form.

Sidibe got his 3rd assist of the season and made Tackle Bonus once again. Aurier was in the points with his 4 tackle bonus of the season along with Spurs’ long awaited CS.

Midfielders

Jota returned his second score above 4 points with a 20 pointer against Brighton. His brace and MOTM has accounted for nearly ⅓ of his season’s tally. Keita emerged with a massive score of 16 points with a goal, assist and some bonus points. That’s the first time he’s scored more than 1 point. Pepe got his first start since October and scored a cracking goal and controversially won MOTM. Kovacic scored his first league goal for Chelsea and has been extremely consistent since the end of October.

Alli assisted twice vs Burnley but is steeply priced at £10.6m. With the limited amount of points coming in the midfield, he may be worth a punt if you’ve spare cash. Richarlison is another pricey option who’s scored 4 in 5. It’s a shame his fixtures are so tough, but I wouldn’t be against bringing him in with the current form and new manager bounce at the club.

Forwards

The usual suspects scored again with Vardy and a Rashford scoring once again. It’s becoming a joke at this point. Kane’s barren patch ended with two cracking goals and an assist against Burnley for a whopping 17 pointer. Calvert-Lewin matched him with his first return since October. Salah was finally back in the ponts too with a MOTM, goal and assist against the team he loved to play, Bournemouth. Son, who’s £1.5m cheaper than Kane braced and assisted against Burnley. He looks like a very good option for captaincy down the line. Maupay £7.5m hit back to back 10 double figures as he scored against Wolves. Aubameyang also returned on MNF and that would have been a popular pick for the armband.

Captain conundrums

Saturday: Liverpool or Leicester. Vardy or Mané/Salah. It’s got to be one of those two

Sunday: There’s plenty of options on Sunday with a chance to bring in Spurs players if you don’t have any already and fancy them for the long run. Son and Alli look great option but Son looks the better value if you take into account the price of each position. Rashford looks another great option and he’s been scoring for fun recently. If you own Aubameyang or the likes of KDB they’re also viable option if you don’t want to be using a transfer and that game should be full of goals.

Monday: It’s another awkward single game day with Palace against Brighton. I wouldn’t be too worried if you don’t own anyone. Guaita or a Palace defender look like great value options for the long run and a potential 22 pointer for the keeper if he keeps his run up. Zaha has a high ceiling but hasn’t performed consistently this season.
