Aston Villa keeping a clean sheet against the otherwise rampant Manchester City, Shaqiri coming up with fantasy football returns against the reigning champions *cough* and both strikers scoring! Well, the FPL gameweek 12 was a success for our ‘Differentials XI’ as they amassed 64 points! It helped that our fantasy premier league captaincy choice – Ayoze Perez, scored 18 points.
Note – This week we have decided that there is to be a rule change. Due to all of the injuries that are happening to the differentials this season, it has made it increasingly difficult to field a team of 11 without taking a hit! Therefore we have revised the ownership percentage criteria for a player to fall into the differential category, from under 5% to under 10%. We hope you all agree, below 10% is definitely still a differential!
Anyway, here is how the team looked at the end of gameweek 12:
The defending champions, Chelsea, have been absolutely miserable this season and their drastic fall from their pedestal has been inexplicable! However, the player that we will be bringing in this week is Diego Costa, with Bony making way (Aguero will be back anytime). Stay with me. In their next 6 fixtures, Chelsea come up against Norwich, Bournemouth, Leicester, Sunderland and Watford. Undoubtedly, they have the best fixture run-in and they have to start somewhere, right? With Diego’s ownership being as low as 6.3%, he may just be the perfect differential to help you climb up the rankings. The added benefit is, you could even hand him the armband (fixtures are that good). Oh, and did we say that Chelsea’s next 5 opponents have conceded 104 goals already this season. Yep, in just 12 gameweeks!
Troy Deeney will be dropping to the bench as 1st sub (since Manchester United have looked solid at the back this season), Lovren, an injured Amavi and Gomes complete our bench.

With Norwich conceding a lot and also constantly being among the top 2 teams to be conceding shots from inside the box, our Captain for gameweek 13 is the player we are bringing in – Diego Costa, who will be facing Norwich at Stamford Bridge. The team’s vice-captain will be Bolasie, who plays Sunderland at home.
