Captaincy Analysis – Gameweek 29 FPL Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Welcome to our captaincy analysis article for the upcoming Fantasy Premier League gameweek 29. We were treated to a full midweek fixture list, however we are now back to the usual weekend FPL fixtures.

Before we dig in to potential captaincy picks for the new round of Premier League fixtures, lets see how last week’s picks did:

1. Jamie Vardy – 2 points

2. Romelu Lukaku – 5 points

3. Diego Costa – 8 points

Differential – Alexis Sanchez – 5 points

Gamble – Sergio Aguero – 2 points

So it was mixed bunch of performers last week, but without further ado, lets take a look at this week’s top options:

1. Sergio Aguero (AVL)

Well it wasn’t going to be anyone else was it? Despite his poor form, you can’t deny that playing Aston Villa at home, is literally like FPL are giving away points! Manchester City are one of the highest scoring teams in the Premier League and Aston Villa have conceded the most, making the decision a bit of a no brainer!

2. Diego Costa (STK)

If you haven’t got Aguero in your team, then Diego Costa is the man for you. Chelsea seem to be a completely different team now that Mourinho has departed, with one noticeable difference being the performances of Costa. He looks a different man; scoring, assisting, creating chances, everything you want in a striker. Chelsea take on Stoke City this weekend, who haven’t managed to keep as many clean sheets whilst Ryan Shawcross has been injured, meaning a Chelsea goal is likely!

3. Jamie Vardy (WAT)

Don’t really know how, but even though Leicester dropped points last week, they someone strengthened their lead at the top of the Premier League. Feel free to re-read that because I can’t explain it! Vardy hit the bar last week and I admit, he was lucky to get an assist the week before, but sooner or later Vardy is bound to explode with FPL points! Watford are a tough team to play, but this year they haven’t been defensively solid against the top 4 teams, so will Vardy bag a goal or two against Watford?

Differential – Matt Ritchie (NEW)

Initially the differential pick was planned to be Rashford, however seeing as about 250,000 people transferred him in, he isn’t really qualified to be a differential pick. However, I thought Ritchie was a better choice. Why? Well, two assists last week, a goal the week before last and therefore he’s certainly racking the FPL points up! They take on Newcastle this week, who have been defensively poor this season, so you’d fancy Ritchie’s chances of getting a good few points! He seems to be going a little unnoticed too, so if you’re feeling risky, go for it!

Gamble – Mesut Ozil (TOT)

He’s only two away from equalling Thierry Henry’s assist record, which means he’s probably more determined to go for assists rather than goals! However as they play Spurs this week, who have been one of the best defensive teams this season, it might be hard for Ozil to get the assists in for Arsenal. A lot of the good stuff coming through Arsenal lately has involved this man so he is definitely the gamble for this week!
