Euro 2016 Preview – Belgium – Fantasy Football Tips

The dark horses of the tournament go into Euro 2016 with arguably their golden generation. However, Belgium will be competing without Manchester City defender and international captain, Vincent Kompany, so you will not be able to select him in your fantasy football teams. Nacer Chadli and Kevin Mirallas also missed out on the squad. Not to worry though, Belgium have got more than enough talent to make up for it as you will see below!

Defence

Despite Chelsea’s disappointing season, there is no doubting that Thibaut Courtois is a top class goalkeeper. He’s already got a La Liga title and a Premier League title to his name, despite being just 24 years of age. One club who had a fantastic season though are Tottenham. Their centre-back partnership of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld will be hoping to take that form into the tournament itself, especially as they will be coming up against the likes of Italy and Sweden in the group phase.

Midfield

Manchester United’s big man, Marouane Fellaini, will be doing everything he can to win every aerial battle without elbowing his opponent, but Axel Witsel will be key to shielding that back four. Another Spurs player, Mousa Dembele, will also be getting on the plane to France. Kevin de Bruyne has kissed goodbye to his injury problems and with seven goals and nine assists in his first season in England, he will be one to watch this summer.

Forwards

The Belgian attack really is something special. Romelu Lukaku scored 18 goals, despite Everton’s poor league finish and it looks as though he will be moving onto bigger and better things in terms of club football. Eden Hazard is always a threat, so you have got to consider him too. Liverpool forwards Divock Origi and Christian Benteke might not be as reliable though. Michy Batshuayi scored 17 Ligue 1 goals and made nine assists in a below par Marseille side, so look out for him too.
