Euro 2016 Preview – Wales – Fantasy Football Tips

Wales are arguably one of the most underrated going into Euro 2016. It contains a Premier League winner, as well as potentially a Champions League winner, amongst other stars. Chris Coleman has taken his team into their first major tournament since 1958, and their first ever European Championships, meaning that they will certainly want to make it count and not just make up the numbers.

Defence

Wales kept two clean sheets against the mighty Belgium in qualification, with a squad littered with Premier League talent. West Ham man James Collins is a great shout for a cheap defensive option, whilst Swansea City’s Ashley Williams is more than capable of keeping the solidarity in his backline, as he has shown time and time again for the Swans. If Wales are to progress they will need their back line to be as solid as they have been in qualifying.

Midfield

Aaron Ramsey is going to be the key man for Wales in midfield. The Arsenal player scored five goals and made four assists for the North Londoners, helping them to a 2nd place finish in the table which is where Wales will be wanting to finish in their group that includes British rivals England, Russia and Slovakia.

Forwards

There’s only one man for the job here. Gareth Bale. He will start up front for the Welsh, giving him even more license to find the back of the net. He scored seven goals in qualifying, but he will need to continue that fine form in the competition itself in order to ensure the fantasy points that we all want to attain. Although he may come with a hefty price tag, any Real Madrid player is more than worthy of a place in the game.
